Jefferson for Iggy and I say yes. Why the hell would you basically trade away Millsap and Harris for an ok point guard?
I've been posting gifs since you were sucking your mother's *** (nipple).
so only 3 weeks ago?

The Trade
Philadelphia 76ers receive: Paul Millsap, Linas Kleiza, Raja Bell, and Earl Watson.
Toronto Raptors receive: Andre Iguodala, Devin Harris, 2012 #15 pick, and UT 2014 1st round pick.
Utah Jazz receive: 2012 #8 pick, Raptors 2013 1st round pick, Jose Calderon, and Elton Brand.
Saw this wasn't posted here and thought it deserved some discussion.
I like it and it still leaves open the possibility of trading Jefferson (like for NOR's #10 and Ariza). The idea of really building the team starting next off-season appeals to me and I think many other posters here. I don't think the proposed team would be all that bad next year.
Now discuss.
Disturbing.
Jealous?
Quick look and I think I like it .. put no thought into that though .. looks good.
Millsap is a significant upgrade on Elton Brand at this stage of his career, and the Sixers could dump Brand and his $18,000,000+ contract without losing their one time amnesty bullet.
2 lottery picks... A pass first pg that is a good shooter, and 18.16M coming off the books for Paul Millsap Raja Bell and Earl watson? Idk how you couldn't like this.
How can you when the writer takes 4 days before begining to start to get to the initial stages of making a point... then dropping this deep line:
They dump Brand's expiring and Iggy, have a payroll that doesn't meet league minimum, and still covet that precious "amnesty bullet"?
Someone tell me when SLC Skunk writes a piece worth reading.
Brand is paid over $18mm alone, dood.
and i'd even be fine with him starting if getting him meant losing harris.
I would give up Jefferson and Harris if we landed Bargnani and the 8th pick. We would have like 16 mil in cap space, we could go after Dragic and Gerald Wallace and draft Lamb/Rivers/Beal.
Dragic/Watson/Tinsley
Hayward/Burks/(Lamb/Rivers/Beal)
Gerald Wallace/Hayward/Carroll
Favors/Millsap
Bargnani/Kanter
If just 1% of the trade threads we see on this board followed Nerd's logic before posting, this world would be a better place.for the record, i have long liked the idea of calderon for the jazz. he's an efficient, pass-first, involve-everybody guard that would be a perfect second-unit facilitator, and i'd even be fine with him starting if getting him meant losing harris.
but this trade just won't get it done. you just can't build trades without looking at each team's perspective.
1) jazz: give up paul, raja, earl, harris and a 2014 1st to get a #8 this year, a 2013 toronto first, calderon and elton brand
raja is gone either way and earl is pretty replacable. so you basically turn millsap into brand (much costlier, less effective and more injury prone); you turn harris into calderon (probably a downgrade if you look at it in a vacuum, but like i said, i think i'd be ok with this); and you turn our 2013 1st into two picks that are probably going to be much better.
2) sixers: give up iggy, the #15 this year, and brand in exchange for millsap, kleiza, and two jazz cast-offs (earl and raja)
just no way. this is where the deal dies and philly's front office laughs so hard they have to go take a nap after they hang up the phone. kleiza is a one-faceted bench player, and raja and earl are replacement-level players. so they're basically trading away two of their best four players and a draft pick in exchange for paul millap.
3) toronto: gives up kleiza, calderon, and their picks in the next two drafts in exchange for harris, iggy, philly's pick this year and utah's pick two years from now
first of all, this violates the ted steppien rule as toronto would be trading future picks in consecutive years. so right there you'd have to do some tweaking. if you took care of that, you're still asking toronto to sacrifice two of their picks for two of utah's/philly's picks, which are probably going to be less valuable. so for them to be interested, they'd have to really love iggy and/or feel like harris was a measurable upgrade over calderon.
Are you not reading any of my other posts... It's 18 M expiring... Why is this so complicated to understand?
you pay him for one year and then you have that cap space..

Brand can't be traded right now.
