Purple & Blues - Utah Jazz at Oklahoma City Thunder: Keys to the Game

Welp, Hayward, Hill, and Johnson all choked at the end.

I usually advocate for Johnson taking the final shot, so I guess I'll just accept this loss.

How to guard russ. Hit him. Hard. Don't let him do what he wants. You got to let him know it hurts of you go inside.

Hit him? Are you kidding me? Westbrook gives no ****s if you hit him, he doesnt stop.

Johnson's awful turnover and giving the Westbrook the and 1 is a collapse bros. I don't care what happened the rest of the game, we were up 4 with a minute left.

We called 1 time out. OKC called the last one to adjust to our formation.

i meat we, as in the audience sitting there through an official timeout, then a jazz timeout, then OKC timeout, were disappointed by a horrid shot with no chance of going in.

couldn't believe Quin called a time-out when it was Joe v. Adams. Space, and let the man work. He's hit that shot 1000 times. Better than the BS he drew up out of the timeouts.

There was no stopping Westbrook on that play. It was just impossible, nothing anyone could do.

The big things where Gobert's turnovers in the post, at least one of them led directly to a bucket for OKC, our inability to get a stop in the last 2 minutes, and ofc Hayward's missed open corner 3.

It was Joe vs Taj

And yeah, it did kind of suck because we basically got the same look after the timeout, only with Joe in the deep corner with a taller defender on him.

Hayward has to make that shot. You are the team leader and wide freaking open, how do you miss that? He disappears in big moments far too often.

It seems you have short memory. Wasn't he clutch against the Wizards?

Yeah, he missed that open 3 but also Hill and then JJ made that turnover. Don't blame Hayward

Going to agree with this. Better to try to funnel the ball to their weak players. Westbrook scored 43 and they won by 3. The game was lost when nobody wanted to take a shot in the last 15 seconds. Thought the decision to inbound to JJ in the corner was a mistake. They only needed 2. Don't rush it. Don't force it.

I'd love to see what genius play someone could draw up down 3, 1 second left, when all 5 defenders are beyond the 3-point line.

heh hard to get a good play down 3 with 1 second left and all 5 defenders are beyond the 3-point line

I disagree with the inbound play that cost the Joe's turnover as well...they had to take a three! I think Quin is not good enough to draw inbound plays down the stretch.

On the other hand Donovan made a good adjustment in the last possession.

what? Westbrook's 3 Hill was right in his face and Westbrook's drives are borderline impossible to stop

In that situation I'm just throwin the ball to Gobert at the 3pt line. No one is going to expect it, you might get lucky if he is able to get it off.

down 2 you never have to take a 3

Losses to good teams (great players) on the road happens, and they shot lights out, and we STILL had almost it, so it just sucks. But win tomorrow and it's all good.
