What's new

Quin could decide to end 8 year tenure with Jazz according to Woj and MacMahon

Yeah but none of them are good GMs. Bron got lucky with the bubble ring. Otherwise the teams he built in LA have sucked balls.
Right but he's so good you might hold your nose and do it. The player/GM has never worked out great.

Losing Quinn is at least a 15 game swing,if you replace him with a good average coach. You need to match him with someone in the ballpark of his talent. It is not impossible but I wouldn't fool ourselves to think it is easy.

Please let this rumor be true. The poison of Quin Snyder needs to be purged from this team. I wouldn't even go outside the organization for a replacement though. Give me Alex Jensen as our next coach over any other options on the market.

I think he's really good... I am not interested in bending the will of the franchise to his... there are maybe like 5 players THAT good.
Pretty shocking to see somebody as smart as you to fall victim to the "Donovan is calling all the shots" rumor mill.

We have been built around Rudy. Now, we might build around Don. Doesn't mean either called all the shots.

Whether or not they “call the shots” we are already at the beginning of “go all in to keep Don” mode. Starts with an assistant coach and a childhood buddy… ends with doing a bunch of short sighted moves to sway that star to stay. Doesn’t have to be trade this guy now… maybe it’s just him saying I’d like to play with player x. It’s like what we did with Gordon but to a higher level.

When your goals change from being as good as possible to keeping a certain player then you end up making bad moves.

We are pretenders right now. We haven't catered to anybody.

See what happens before you bash rumors.

The firing of Mike Elliot was 1000000% catering to Donovan

The team stays in New York extra days because Donovan wants to.

The team signed Eric Paschal because of Donovan Mitchell

These are all so fringe it is hardly catering lmao. Trading your best wings plus future picks and letting your best perimeter defender leave so you can get Westbrook is catering. Trading away every single good young prospect and picks for Davis is catering.

Spin doctor

Building around Mitchell would be stupid.
He's already obviously regressing.
He plays such poor defense, it'd be hard to say who's actually a worse defender at the 2 guard position in the entire league. Look at his matchups the playoffs, Harden, Murray, Mann, Brunson, ect. Those guys all magically put up their best performances in their careers.
He's thinks he's a player he isn't. He lost the Jazz 20+ games on horrible heroball garbage.
Snyder may have to go and a new coach might be able to get Mitchell to try on defense, and stop the heroball nonsense. That's a giant maybe.
Trade him to a stupid terribly ran team like the Knicks or Magic.

Quin coming back for one year while everyone knowing he’s gone at year end seems pretty much like a perfect cherry on this **** sundae. The Utah Lame Ducks “Stay Together for the All Star Game” can be the theme for the season.
After our recent playoff meltdowns, Lame Focks might be more accurate. I mean seriously, Salt Lake is a Mecca for hepcat Jazz musicians right? Personally I’m still holding out for the Utah “Choir Boys” - now that’s got a ring to it IMO!
