I'm not sure having your PG as your no.1 option is effective for a contending team. Can you think of any such examples? Maybe a big PG like Magic or Westbrook, but someone with Burke's size and skill set? He seems to have amazing ball handle, and he can really split the defense for a lay up or a push out for an open team mate. But if the team does not have a legit scorer (I don't think Hayward can play as well he did tonight on consistent basis), then teams will just collapse the defense on him and have other Jazzers beat them. I love Burke, and I see him eventually becoming our Parker. Hayward is our Ginobili. But we still need our Duncan.

Isiah Thomas, who dimension-wise was not far from Burke.

Need a kleenex? U bish. Not sure if you thought for a second that we'd finish worst in the league this season. Nah, homie. Not with Black Jesus carrying us.

2 in a row and we are still 3rd worst let DL do his magic we're ok

Trey Burks has learned faster than just about anyone, certainly me, ever thought he could. I thought he might overcome the pre-season stuff but he was showing no sign of it. Perhaps watching from the bench can be helpful if you actually watch and try to learn. All knew he had a lot of talent but the question was were we ever going to see it? We have!!!!

Theory: Burks presence has released Hayward from a lot of his ball handling responsibilities, given a few games to adjust they have both benefited from the other. Hayward seems to not be "forcing" his action anymore.

Anyway a team can't tank if they continue to try. There never was a tank except in some peoples minds. Trey Burke dumped that tank in the Great Salt Lake tonight. Sure would like a great draft pick but we can get one anywhere in the top 10.

Y'all better keep dreaming. Jazz gon make the playoffs tbh. DO you really think that this franchise will try to out-tank other teams? With a young core of 2 3rd overall picks, a great young player in Hayward, and Black Jesus himself?

Jazz gon flip it around, and hit .500 in record time. Book it.

Isiah Thomas, who dimension-wise was not far from Burke.

I suppose if Burke can become Isiah Thomas + 3pt shooting, we should be in a good shape. :D

Either way, I'm with you. We can acquire what we need either through the mid-lottery, or by pooling assets for a good player. I'm not convinced being a 10 win team is the right move, regardless of who we end up drafting. At least from the perspective of keeping talent around long enough and cheaply enough until we become contenders.

The tank can suck it. I want to watch a competitive team that is perpetually a good player away from being a contender.
fixed. DL please save us and renew the tank. Not excited to be in the middle for another decade!

I haven't been this mad since the Oilers lost their goalie ..

Actually remember crying during that game, tbh. The goalie's replacement let in two of the most ****ing ridiculous goals I have ever seen in professional hockey. Entire family living room was silent.

Damn, that was a cool time to live in Edmonton. Get goosebumps watching that video /****yeahNickleback

I'm definitely of the argument that your PG should rarely/almost never be your Max player, as two-way bigs are much more important come playoff-time; but what was thought going into this season (and has been disappointing thus far) was the potential that both of our bigs could be two-way players. With Favors, it was hypothesized that Burke could make him a much more offensively-threatening player. With Kanter, we thought his early P&R D, and his big-body would make him a good defender as well. Throw in Hayward as a Manu, and Burks as a 'Microwave', and you have yourself a pretty damn good team. Pool up the rest of our assets, and take a swing either in FA or through the draft-- and you're looking at a pretty damn good core, Jabari or not.

At least IMO. There is nothing promising about the Jazz finishing with 10 wins this season.

It only worries me that after the all-star break franchises in this league will go into full tank mode like GS did a couple years ago. They will be benching their best players with minor injuries for long periods of time. They will pull players who are playing well and put in scrubs. In the fourth quarter they will bench starters if they have a lead or its close.

The Jazz organization is willing to let young players play but they are not willing to go into full tank mode like many franchises are. Hopefully the karma will play out and we win the lottery despite probably being in the 7-10th worst team position.

I hope so. It's a crazy feeling when an entire city stands up to support a team (I know that you know what this feels like-- only it's most of a state in your case).

Both the Jazz and the Oilers are rebuilding, and I cannot wait to see how they end up in a couple years time :)
