From Brian T. Smith Twitter: Raja Bell to Earl Watson: "We consistently do dumb ****."
Bell added: "We can't even help it."
Bell now talking to Harpring: " ... set [freaking] screens."
Bell obviously wants to win and play the right way. Never, ever sets well with him when Jazz fail to execute. Coach-like mentality.
Raja Bell after Durant gets fouled and drives unimpeded: "****!" Then slams scorer's table as hard as possible with hand.
Jefferson just watched Durant blow by and basically stepped aside for him before dunk.
Jefferson just hasn't brought it last two games.
Much respect for what Kanter, Favors continue to bring every second they're on the floor. Great sign for their future.
.. Several Jazz players, including Bell, Miles and Millsap, said Utah doesn't have an identity and nothing is working. Millsap was very direct. Said it hasn't felt good on the court for a while and Jazz don't know what they're doing. To fix problem, he said, Utah first has to figure out what it problem is. Right now, team doesn't know and there's been no explanation.
My notes: When I am defending Raja Bell and calling him the best player the Jazz have right now, you know ****'s ****ed up. Raja's right that this is not a smart team. Watching CJ Miles constantly commit the dumbest fouls or Josh Howard try to dribble in or out of traffic drives me nuts. Watching Gordon Hayward continually jump and not know what he is going to do with the ball is maddening. Devin Harris is just awful in every facet of the game
And then there are the two almost All-Star bigs. I watch Al Jefferson and can completely understand why he has never been on a winning team: when a game winning play needs to be made, he's not going to do it, whether it be boxing out for a rebound, playing good defense, or taking a good shot. The guy is just not a winner. As for Paul Millsap, his play the past week or so reminds me a lot of how Memo used to shrink right after he was snubbed for an All-Star position. Paul, you didn't make it, get over it and take it out on the league instead of sulking and sucking.
This is all bad enough, but then I watch Ty Corbin, who I have a lot of hope for, continue to play the players who are making these stupid mistakes instead of the youngsters who need floor time is the most exasperating thing for me. When the starters dug a hole that the bench lifts you from in Indiana, don't bring back the starters. When Jefferson and Millsap just aren't doing it, leave Favors and Kanter on the floor. Let them play. When CJ is chucking and Howard is fumbling the dribble, put Burks in the game.
Stop consistently doing dumb ****.
