Report: Bynum for Jefferson?

Love to see them try to suit up Bynum for the rest of the season just to listen to Bolerjack/Harpring try to rationalize being they both never miss an opportunity to trash the dude.

Hey hotnikkk, you forgot to link to the Spanish play by play guy's tweet that you just copied here: https://twitter.com/Jazz1600AM/status/419285587275702272

In any case, is that even accurate? How can they trade Marv for 15.5M? I thought you couldn't combine a trade exception WITH a player (which is where I'm assuming they get the $15.5M number) as the same trade? I guess they could trade a pick+trade exception for a player and then trade Marvin for another player of equal salary, but they can't take ONE salary of up to $15.5M, right? It would have to be two separate players making ~$8M or less each?

You are confusing me haha. The Jazz just need to waive him and his salary is off the books (6 million left for '14). We are currently about 2 million under the cap. If we waive Bynum thats 8 million under the cap. In trades we would be able to absorb 8 million+the salary being traded (in this case Marvin's 7.5 million).

This would be an interesting scenario. We would be able to take a huge contract from a team over the cap and pick up some assets. It can even be a two year contract, since we will be 20 million under the cap in 14-15 (assuming we resign gordon for 10 million and not counting our 1st rounders or free agents)

The Cavs are trying to trade Bynum, whose $12.25 million contract will become fully guaranteed on Jan. 10. If they release him by 5 p.m. on Monday, they will owe him just $6 million. One NBA source shot down the latest report circulating on ESPN on Friday night that the Cavs were discussing trading Bynum for Utah's Richard Jefferson. "Nothing is happening, especially RJ,'' the source said. - Cleveland Plain Dealer

How do these rumors get started?
These writers have to be getting names from reliable sources.

Do anything to bolster the future of this young core, free up some ca$h, and, as always...**** the Lakers at all costs.

Waive that big bitch as soon as he signs.

Must be for Marvin or Biedrins, then.

nope

I honestly hope this is a joke! Trading one of the better leaders and teachers on the team for a washed up POS center in Bynum who doesn't even belong in the human race, let alone the NBA. If this goes thru, I will be pissed!

UtahQuad

You're missing the point. They would waive Bynum immediately, he'd never wear a Jazz uni

Jazz lose to the wabbling Lakers and now this? Is there hope for the tank after all? :''''''''D
