There is also the suggestion that to experience stress is to admit to weakness. Snowflakes. Sensitive? Nurturing? These too are snowflake attributes. Especially in men no doubt. Being mean and rotten is admired. Seen as a strength. People like Josh Hawley worry about the disappearance of manhood, when I believe in truth they greatly fear the feminine and nurturing component of their own human nature. It is perceived to be weak and unmanly.

The group running most of the ballot box watching is called Clean Elections USA — and their founder, Melody Jennings, cites a debunked conspiracy theory film "2,000 Mules" as the motivation for monitoring voters.

"The effects of election conspiracy theories already on full display here in the swing state of Arizona," said O'Sullivan. "Armed men stalking voter drop boxes and people covering identities as they go to vote," said O'Sullivan. "Central to all of this is the movie '2,000 Mules.' Trump even hosted a screening of it at Mar-a-Lago. The movie falsely claims that so-called mules are casting hundreds or thousands of votes at drop boxes ... the people we're seeing are not mules, they are real voters who are now afraid."

"I could never come down here alone. I couldn't do it myself," said another voter, identified as Kelly Wilson. Her companion agreed: "It's just flat-out insane. It's voter intimidation."

"I'm an American first," he told O'Sullivan. "It's funny. I voted a lot of times. I'm in my 60s and this is the first time an election has ever been 'stolen'. Come on."

This isn't how to make america great again. It was never like this in the past.

They are wrong about the snowflake thing, but the most egregious thing is pretending that cats are good for anything at all. Everyone knows they are evil biological mind-control machines that make people stupid. Of course this is why our cat loves me, it's evil nature is drawn to the darkness of my soul. Plus it loving me more than my wife is its way of getting back at her for loving it. It is a vicious evil cycle. Cats are evil.

How is this a repost when this story came out yesterday? The tweets above provided context for who Nick Fuentes is and the tweets from Trump come from Truth Social when he attempted to defend himself yesterday. I assumed many on here had heard about this story. And the zero pushback from the GOP (unless you count former congresspeople Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger) is interesting.

Or is it that you don’t see Trump, the GOP frontrunner for 2024, meeting the other night with two white supremacists, one of which runs a group of young people, to be newsworthy? If so, why?

I bet Ron DeSantis will for sure denounce this white supremacist. Because he surely wouldn’t want their vote, right??? DeDantis most certainly doesn’t want to be associated by Fuentes.

Trump said in a statement to Axios: "Kanye West very much wanted to visit Mar-a-Lago. Our dinner meeting was intended to be Kanye and me only, but he arrived with a guest whom I had never met and knew nothing about."

Behind the scenes: A source familiar with the dinner conversation told Axios that Trump "seemed very taken" with Fuentes — impressed that the 24-year-old was able to rattle off statistics and recall speeches dating back to his 2016 campaign.

  • Paraphrasing the conversation, the source said Fuentes told the president he preferred him to be "authentic," and that Trump seemed scripted and unlike himself during his recent 2024 campaign announcement speech.
Trump responded: "You like it better when I just speak off the cuff," the source said.

  • Fuentes replied that he did, calling Trump an "amazing" president when he was unrestrained.
  • "There was a lot of fawning back and forth," the source added.
  • During the conversation, Fuentes said he represented a side of Trump's base that was disappointed with his newly cautious approach — especially with what some far-right activists view as a lack of support for those charged in the Jan. 6 Capitol attack.
    • Trump didn't disagree with Fuentes — but said he has advisers who want him to read off teleprompters and be more "presidential."
    • Fuentes told Trump that he would crush potential 2024 Republican rivals in a primary, including Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis. Trump asked for Fuentes' opinion on other candidates as well.
  • Trump at one point turned to Ye and said: "I really like this guy. He gets me," according to the source.
    • The source added: "I don't believe the president knew who the hell [Fuentes] was."

The very best thing that could happen would be for Desantis to win the nom and then for Trump to run his own independent campaign. That would sufficiently fracture the base. I am not sure I want any of the current crop as president, Biden included, but even the specter of a possible Trump re-election is enough to get me to hope against hope that the repubs run on a split ticket to ensure he doesn't make it in again.
