Rest Easy, The Jazz Will Be Awful

If Bolmaro cant beat out Stanley Johnson and Udoka Azubuike, then that's on him, not Rudy Gay.
Bolmaro has been horrible every time I've seen him play. He has that deceptive hint of a player who might be able to pass and playmake, which for his size would be great to have but then you realize you only see that hint when he's sharing the floor with total scrubs who will never see NBA action and he actually lacks the athleticism, tools and other skills to make his intriguing abilities to even enter into the conversation on an NBA floor. I personally don't see him succeeding in the league.

I need to watch 5 or 6 season games to get a real feel for the team.
That said, if we take preseason as an indicator, I wouldn't expect them to win more than one out off five games.

Agree with that. Too early to be sure, let's wait 10-15 games. It will mostly depends how coach manage Mike, JC, Lauri. If he limit their min, put Mike only against good team and rest him against bad, we definitly have a dream tank team with Gay, THT, NAW.....

Tank-49 just need to suck in a good way, use the season to train and develop...
Coach need guys to buy into it, to believe they can fight hard, train and develop for a season or two to become good at NBA basketball without worrying about loses.
Contrary to what I thought early, vets need to play to start the season.

I agree that Vets need to play, as young guys will learn from them. But sit them at 4 th quarter, let THT, NAW, Gay blow 10 points lead....... loose in style !!

Pop is already embracing the tank knowing the rewards in the draft. And the Spurs humiliated us in one of the preseason games. That puts the Jazz in the category of the Washington Generals.

I said 18 is the most they win "if they tank" smh .You do know what tank means right? It means none of the players play team ball and are a bucket of disorganized basketball. Maybe if you were not smoking something anything whatever, you wouldn't be only reacting to part of my take out of context to make me look stupid or somthing. No wonder you have the user name you have lol.
I don't see it until after the trade deadline, (tank mode) then maybe they get into the tank race a little bit, by playing younger potential core pieces like Vander, Och, Marky, Sexton, whatever, in the starting line up a lot, compared to the first half of the season. This is when JC, Mike,Beasley etc had the most usage for trade value and they win at least 20 games minimum before the deadline if they are trying to win and manage to avoid injuries and don't manufacture injury time off aka tank injuries. That in fact is a very low projection in that case.
All that being said I am a believer they should be trying to develop the young players mixed with vets all season maybe flipping JC at the deadline though and if that is the case I expect a higher win total than 25 and much closer to 30
Mixing young players with veterans is the right tactic. And it can work. I'm not sure about 30 wins, but it should be more than 20, I think.

Hi all.

Hi all.
whatever direction they go this season, will project more clearly, the length of time it will take before this is a basketball team worth paying money to watch. I am hoping its not a 4 year rebuild, if it heads that direction, I might have to go back to combing the desert for spaceballs

I foresee a 21 or 22-win season and a bottom-3 record in the league. The Spurs are better than us (with Poeltl, Johnson and Vassell), and Popovic is just not wired to not be competitive. I think the Jazz are going to duck them.

Houston is better than the Jazz as well. Green, Eason, Smith, Sengun and a big lead guard in Kevin Porter Jr. are a nice young group.

The Jazz are basically in the same shape as the Rockets two seasons ago when James Harden showed up wearing a fat suit. The Jazz have a few guys who can play, but they don't really fit together in any coherent ensemble at all. They don't have anyone to play through offensively unless Markkanen somehow evolves into a triple-threat guy instead of purely a play finisher. I think you're going to continue to see the ball in the hands of NAW and THT trying to create something. Clarkson and Beasley are probably going to chuck. All Conley can do is decide whose turn it is.

Defense is going to be bottom-10, despite Vanderbilt playing like a spazz, and the offense is going to be pretty below average as well.

I think one of the underreported stories of the pre-season is that the Jazz's 4-year college player and lottery pick Ochai Agbaji couldn't break the rotation. Nickeil shot 1/14 in four pre-season games, he generally wasn't very effecive, and Agbaji only subbed in for him once for a few minutes when Nickeil had some early foul trouble. Agbaji is 22, which is on the older side for a rookie. Let's hope he can play some.

I still think we will show we can be quite good ...for 3 quarters, then put our dream tanking team early in the fourth and blow 10 points lead ( this is a Utah trade mark).... then we can still keep our good players in action ( and sale some of them) and finish bottom 3.

When you look at the waiver wire, you realize just how many guys there are out there and furthermore realize that guys like Butler aren't going to have a huge market.

He's fine. They making him earn it... as much as I think NAW is not good at basketball I think he is likely one of the hardest workers and best teammates by all accounts. So he likely gets the nod in the rotation for now.

Ochai is not the guy I'd have taken in the lotto but he will be a rotation wing at very least. I'd have had him a few spots lower but he should be a mid quality 3 and D wing.

Agreed. Eason was sitting there for the taking. Can't really argue much considering it was another FO that made the pick. For whatever reason Kansas players haven't had a ton of success in the NBA although Wiggins finally figured it out. Agbaji is too good a shooter so assume he will eventually settle in as a roleplayer similar to a Danny Green type. It took Green a few seasons to establish himself even though he was a 4 year college player too.

The Jazz roster is still good enough to win 30 games IMO. With guys like Clarkson, Sexton, Beasley, we are either going to shoot ourselves into games or shoot us out of them. This team is not devoid of talent, but I can't help but think that Danny will hope to net an asset out of Beasley, JC or someone else if it all possible before the break.

I'm not convinced that this team is looking at a bottom five pick right now. I could firmly see us finishing somewhere in the #8 - #10 lottery range.
