Ric Bucher reporting Jazz have signed Randy Foye to a 1-year deal

Not sure I like this one. Man, it's so sudden and unexpected. Why re-up Tinsley if they were going to do this? The only reason would be if Foye were to be strictly a 2 guard. However that is bad for Burks.

But all of this has been said. Well, the Jazz are trying to win now still and this is definitely a now move. If Burks wants to play, he better improve his game or he won't see the light of day.

Do they hope to re-sign him? This is completely the opposite of what is going on with Dwight. Teams want a long term deal with him, and in the case of the Lakers trade that never happened, teams wanted a long term deal with Bynum. What do the Jazz do? They sign a player to a one year deal. Backwards to the rest of the league. Do the Jazz think that they can sway him into a reasonable multi year contract because of what a great young core we have? Or is this really a one year rental? (don't mind me, just rambling.)

I don't know what KOC promised him, but if you're Foye, how can you be happy coming off the bench behind Hayward & Burks? After you started 30+ games last season?

Do we need another whining vet on our bench? (does that ring a *Bell*)??

Because you are Randy Foye and you aren't that good, that's why. He started a lot of games last year because the Clippers didn't have any SG's.

If you can recognize Peter Fehse by his picture, you have some serious issues. Could you also identify Tadija Dragicevic from a lineup?

I shall remember this post, Tink. Beware. It might come back to bite you in the ***.

Also just wonder how much of a role Mo had in all of this.

This is like the summer of '11 all over again:

Harris & Howard

Mo & Foye

Gives me a weird sense of de-ja-voo-doo..

Yeah, I've hijacked the thread, but i must ask people: Foye and Jimmer are the same rough height and have similar skillsets, so which would you have on the team? Yeah, hindsight, i know but seriously, which?

He can be a mentor and challenge Burks/Hayward. Besides that, he might not look bad out there with Tinsley running the point.

Not Jimmer is the correct answer.

He only started because chancey went down. I don't think he will be like an entitled Raja bell. Hasn't he only played for minny and the clips, also?

Jimmer having a "skillset" would require him to have more than one skill.

Why would it bite me in the ***?

Isn't the best case scenario that Burks, Hayward, and our other young players play so well that we barely need Foye?

I am starting to think this Jazz squad is going to be good. It was so frustrating watching the Jazz last year, seems like they couldn't ever make a jumpshot when other teams couldn't miss.

That looks to be addressed now.

Mo
Marvin
Foye
even Murphy

We're loading up on shooters. And not just Kyle Korver types. Guys that can shoot and do other things.

Now, if we can just get Jefferson passing out of the post a bit more...
