What's new

Rick Carlisle

You sure? I remember hearing multiple announcers say that is what they have been doing the past couple of years because of Jason Kidd.

I don't know what to tell you besides that I've seen them execute very fundamentally strong, real sets that were effective. To a degree that I've personally rarely seen.

I don't cry about many things--except the soundness of your posts.

Suggesting that JazzFanz have been focused solely on Carroll is a rather narrow view, even for what might have been sarcasm on your part (but then again, it did take soooo much longer to write those other names).

And while Corbin has taken strides in the right direction, he continues to make the same mistakes that a coach with better experience (Carlisle) or a better pedigree (um, this year's COY, to Thibodeau)--and who were both available in the past few years--would likely avoid. There's no evidence that the Jazz ever explored these coaches because they attached a self-imposed ball and chain to Ol' Jer instead.

So... I realize this probably isnt a very good first post on this board, but I couldn't help joining to put in my 2 cents on the matter... I realize this isnt about Corbin, but lets compare this season... What was Carlisle record this season with an above average team? (skill wise) 36-30... Now lets take Corbin, and what was his record on first (semi-full) year as a head coach and below average team... Record 36-30.
So my question is who is a better coach? It seems pretty obvious that it's Corbin.
Give the dude a break, of course he is making mistakes! He's new... while all of us sit on our butts watching the game, thinking he's an idiot... There is a reason you are where you are, and he is where he is. He knows more about basketball than any of us will ever dream of. He'll get the rotation down, he'll learn more about playing the younger guys over the vets.
I'm going to go out on a limb here and assume that everyone calling out Corbin also boo'd Hayward when he got drafted? I think it's a joke that as fans we can't wait one or two years to see what happens. To see coaches/players develope. We assume the worst and head for the cliffs. At the very first sign of a struggle, we jump..
The Jazz surpassed any and all expectations of them this year. Why is that? Probably Corbin. I'm excited to see what he has done with everything he's learned this year.

He walked on fire with Oprah! Lets get him.

I did the same **** at a bs Tony Robbins seminar I went to for my job. They wet your feet first and the pit is only like 12 feet long. Stupid. A five year old could do it.
