Rodney Hood Refuses to Enter Game in Garbage Time

I liked the Rodney Hood who showed up and won fourth quarters for us with incredible shooting. Everyone looks worse in Cleveland. Rodney would probably not be too thrilled about coming back to SLC a second time but if he was I would take him. He would just have a smaller role here. With the right attitude and a little more health and consistency he could be amazing here. If his market value is really low, then why not?

Rodney Hood
@ $22 million/year INSANITY (but that's what he was thinking last year)
@ $18 million/year DESPERATION
@ $15 million/year (Not sure anyone pays this in the current market)
@ $12 million/year Decent Value
@ $8 million/year STEAL!!!

Where does he fall given the last 12 months and given the lack of teams with $$$ to spend? I really don't have a clue.
I disagree with your price chart. Start the insanity price at 12 M and the steal value at 5 M then you may have something.

If you think about it, Hood has to have had one of the highest of highs and lowest of lows last year a healthy guy can have in the NBA

What high did he have? You act as if he played like Michael Jordan for a few weeks or something.

Hood probably went from thinking he was going to get close to a max contract this off season to sitting the bench in the playoffs and wondering if he was going to get a MLE contract this off season.

Yep. I imagine he and his agent were comp'ing Otto Porter's deal. Then he gets demoted in Utah to coming off the bench and they likely asked for a trade. He goes to Cleveland and is starting again, then gets demoted to the bench. And then finds himself completely out of the rotation. He'll be lucky to get an MLE deal. His recourse is probably to sign a 1yr deal to try to rebuild his value.

He apparently doesn't do well when pressured in a contract year. Maybe he'd be better to settle for a lower contract for a few years, something really modest. Prove his worth and regain his confidence.

He was expected to be Utah's number one guy this year. I imagine that must have been a pretty good high for him.
And at the first chance for him to actually do it, he was in the bathroom and Mitchell started for him at the last minute.

Sounds like a thing Hood should be mad at everyone else for again.
