Roger Braille Buyout Problems (merged)

But it sounds an awful lot like roger pulled a fast one after initially agreeing to something that made sense for the jazz to not exercise their amnesty right.
You mean like when Roger Belle was with the Jazz before, and said he planned on re-signing with us when he became a free agent, then signed with Phoenix at 12:01 on July 1, and said to Suns fans, "This is where I always wanted to be"?

Roger Braille does what's best for Roger Braille.

HAD some leverage, yeah. and that's probably when the verbal agreement was reached. but now that KOC has lost the leverage of the amnesty threat, bell renegs on the verbal agreement and can suddenly play hardball because KOC has no fall-back option. at least that's my read on the situation, i clearly have no inside info. but it sounds an awful lot like roger pulled a fast one after initially agreeing to something that made sense for the jazz to not exercise their amnesty right.
The leverage is to simply keep him on the team, make him practice and then tell him he's inactive for each game. If he protests, then fine him what you can under the terms of the CBA. If he still complains, remind him the buyout agreement is still on the table - less the money he's been paid to date. Raja will never play another game with the Jazz. If he wants to refuse a buyout, collect his checks and get 82 DNP-CD's, then that's his choice.

This minus practicing with the team. You don't want a guy like that around your locker room. Make him inactive, tell him to stay away from the team and that he can come and pick up his paycheck each week.

They shouldn't even have to deal with that. Sign his *** up for direct deposit!

On a related note, if Braille opens a new account with Cyprus Credit Union and signs up for direct deposit he will recieve a free autographed Gordon Hayward jersey.

Might be a nice way for him to remember one of the guys who helped him into early retirement.

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to UGLI baby again.

What kind of leverage is that? Make him 'earn' every dime. Take the buyout option off the table right now, then make his life a living hell. When he begs for the buyout to be brought to the table tell him Managment will consider it. Keep him in limbo for several days. Make it so he has to stay in Salt Lake, but can't be around the team. There is plenty of stuff for him and the misses to do aroud town. Let him leave SLC, but then call him back because a player is injured and he might play. The player will heal just before game time. When he expresses anger get angry back. When he stops calling, call him and tell him the buyout is on, but call him an hour and 45 minutes later and tell him there was a change in plan. Two weeks later tell him its on again and all you need to finish it is Roger's and Greg's signatures, but Gregg is in Hawaii for 2 weeks. When Greg returns tell Roger, that Greg signed it, but lowered the buyout by 20%.

He can behave badly to the media and to his teamates, but the Jazz can screw with his mind, emotions, family, and plans. Anyone who has ever been laid off or or rifed knows how frustrating it is.

If he still doesn't sign the buyout, suit him up and play him 39 minutes against NO, let Eric Gordon drop 50 on him. Bench him for 5 days then let him play 40 minutes against Kobe. A competitor hates getting beat and really hates being embarassed, and the way Roger plays embarassment is guaranteed.

New question: has Roger Braille become a bigger joke than Kosta "BoomBi***es" Koofus?

Just FYI, bitch is perfectly acceptable here so feel free to not censor it.

Or do so if you wish, it's your call.

On another note, Boom Bitches is still one of my favorite all time things here. Especially because it came after a pretty weak (but at the same time a much needed) basket.

From that link: "We had a buyout in place early in the summer. The Jazz never officially presented it to me."

Translation: "After I told the Jazz that I wasn't going to accept the buyout, they didn't make their offer official."
