Rondo to Dallas?

Dallas kind of had to do it to keep up with the top of the west.

Risky move but the right move imo. Will be interesting

I like trades. Will be fun to see how it plays out.

They didn't really give up much. Not bad.

Rondo-Ellis-Parsons-Nowitzki-Chandler is a frightening starting 5.

The Mavs frontcourt depth is frightening too, but not in a good way.

If rondo re-signs it is a pretty lopsided trade. You would think that there were better deals out there. It seems like ainge had no desire to trade him east coast as Greg Monroe (+Jennings) for Rondo would have been a better deal.

KILLER move by Dallas. I think people forget how good Rondo was when he played with decent teammates and actually gave a ****.

Huh, I thought the Celtics did ok in this trade

Boston doesn't like the trade but it was inevitable. Rondo did not fit with their young core. They at least now have a 100% rebuild with no loose ends. Surely they will tank hard for the rest of the year. Its going to be very ugly basketball in the east as Philly, NY, Detroit, Charlotte, Boston, and maybe Milwaukee start resting players to vie for a top spot.

I have a lot of trust in Carlisle. This will work out well for the Mavs.

Ultimately Carlisle has only a little say so in the matter, but I really think that this is an outstanding move for both teams. I think the Mavs will benefit more in terms of playoff team production. The Celtics really have other things to think about before they can get there but this helps them. One thing I would be willing to bet on is that the Mavericks aren't done yet. This may be the first of another big move. I think when its all said and done, the Mavs could potentially be competing for the W.C Finals. They know that they will have to improve to compete against the stacked west. This was a move in the right direction IMO.

The Celtics problem is they make the right decision to trade a player 2 years after they should have pulled the trigger. They could have gained much more in return with Rondo, K.G., and Pierce. They talk about it and then wait 2 years. They did it with all 3 players. They talked about trading them and waited gaining much less assets in return. They still came out ok, but not as good as what they could have if they would have made this move when they were talking about it. (a year before Rondos injury)
