Roster Addition Wish List

“Including the $30.7M Jimmy Butler free agent hold, Philadelphia will have roughly $21M in cap space for 2019-20. The room includes renouncing all free agents except for Butler and TJ McConnell. The 76ers would be close to adding another max slot if they find a home for former first overall pick Markelle Fultz.”

Burks seems like the player perfect for Philly this year. He is shooting over .500 from 3. His contract is expiring but he helps them win this year which is something Fultz isn't guaranteed to do and Philly needs since they want to keep Butler. Burks is fine coming off the bench.

I dont know if I would want Fultz in return, but Burks for Fultz works financially. Maybe we could find a 3rd team. Orlando? Phoenix?

Is this seriously your thoughts, I can’t believe I’m reading this. I why we would trade Burks for that mental midget is beyond me. Why would the jazz do that??

What if Jazz renounce Favors, Neto, Burks, Rubio, Udoh and Sefolosha to open up cap space?

Jazz need an impact player. Anything short of that is a wasted trade.

They also need to be less loyal. Crowder and Allen are the only bench players worth keeping. Everyone else needs to be upgraded.

Yes, I'm sure the Sixers want to trade the 20 year old they invested two first round picks into for Alec Burks, a historically average shooter with an injury history and one year left on his deal whose cap hold would eat into their free agency spending power.

Aaron Gordon. I would trade Dante and Rubio for him and a first.

You would then have to trade Favors (ugh!).

The lineup would be

Gobert
Gordon
Crowder
Burks
Mitchell

Super-athletic, scorers, dunkers. :)
No way they would want both
I don't think Orlando would want Rubio AND Dante. They still kind of like Augustin.

I think an Aaron Gordon deal would be:

Favors, Thabo and EITHER Rubio or Exum plus our 2019 1st and probably another lottery protected 1st
for
Gordon and Mozgov

If Orlando could find a way to dump Mozgov's money, they would see that as an asset. Overall, I just don't know why Orlando would trade Gordon. Gordon and Bamba project to be a really good, athletic tandem down low. They have a max contract spot available in the summer so they could just be patient with what they have.
If 76ers don’t have to give a first for Butler, I don’t want the jazz to have to shell out a first for Gordon. Favors and X and a second will work.
Harris and Mirotic are the only "realistic" shooting big targets.

Agreed

I'm not sure if Philly wants Burks or not; I'm just making conversation based on circumstances.

Philly has to impress Butler. Hell, they just gave up two good players for maybe one year of Butler. They might not have the patience for Fultz and would rather buy somebody this summer.

Christ THJ, don't be an idiot.

Butler didnt fetch a first cuz his contract was expiring.

Gordon has 3 years left on his deal after this year. Not only that, it's a declining contract so each year it becomes a better and better deal, which might even increase exponentially in value if he progresses as a player.

For the life of me I have no idea why they would trade Gordon unless they were getting great value in return.

Favors, X and a 1st rounder wouldnt get it done, not even close. Exum isnt going to be a big value in a trade unless he starts playing much better. Orlando needs shooting, not an Exum and probably not a Rubio. If Exum starts playing well (by the deadline) then maybe it's different. Even if you add in another protected first I don't think it really moves the needle. Orlando might be good enough to make the playoffs as is, so I don't think they are really looking to soft-reset with late first round picks.

I don't think the Jazz have much to really give Orlando at the end of the day.

Butler would have gotten Minnesota first rounders, but Minnesota wanted something more proven and tangible so they took Covington and Saric instead.

But I agree with Cy - we really don't have anything Orlando wants. I see no reason why Orlando trades Gordon especially to us.

I do wonder if Orlando has interest in Fultz. Maybe they could be the 3rd team if they like Fultz. Not sure what we would get from Orlando though...

I guess that’s true, didn’t take contracts into account, thanks for setting me straight

Unfortunately, we don't have the assets to even talk about Gordon. Not in a 2 team trade, or a 10 team trade. Exum hasn't been very good, and doesn't have a lot of value. Gordon is one of the best young players in the league. I'd give anyone not named Donovan or Rudy, and all the picks they want. But it's not enough.

Butler trade became official today. Coach Brown talks about Butler joining the young core but doesnt mention Fultz. But Fultz is the one the media intreviews LOL...

You even make stuff up when you read articles. This is the only quote from Brown in that link: ""The biggest challenge is piecing all this together," 76ers coach Brett Brown said. "It's not even close. ... I say that completely from an excitement standpoint. This isn't a burden. Sure, it's a responsibility. But I'm excited with piecing this together.""

I didn't make anything up Cy. Brown doesn't mention Fultz. Brand doesn't either:

"We have a championship window that's centered around the continued progression of our talented young core, as well as our ability to add elite players who elevate our program," 76ers general manager Elton Brand said. "In Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons, we have two of the NBA's top-20 players. Now, we've added a third top-20 player in Jimmy Butler, who is one of the NBA's very best on both ends of the floor."

You just want to be a pain in the *** Cy dont you?

I posted Philly perspective articles about their thoughts on dumping Fultz. I did it for the sake of conversation. Everybody knows Fultz is a project but Philly has to show results now. How does Fultz fit? Just be cool man damn.
