Round 1 Game 2 Utah Jazz at L.A. Clippers 8:30pm MDT

I look at +/- with hesitation because it doesn't tell the whole story, so I'm not sure what to make of Haywards -17.

ALso, Hayward played 38 minutes, and Moute played 38. Did they match Moute on Hayward all night?

Dante was a +0 tonight.

Not bad.

I thought the tried to throw the haymaker several times and we kept punching back. We were right there... couple times had open threes that would have put us in striking distance.

if we close the second and third quarters better, then the 4th quarter would have had a very different feel.

My one disappointment is with the lack of imagination Q had with the C position. Favors wasn't much of a positive; Q gave up on Withey; and even though Diaw played well when Speights was in, his impact was limited to that match-up. It would have been good to draw DAJ out of the paint. Try something different. Favors played at least a third of his minutes on fumes.

One thing I hate about TNT is I get half the replays I want. The non call on the Hayward three was monstrous.

I'd prefer him doing anything he can to help us win bball games not be the moral authority of the NBA. Get of ya high horse Quin and send that sucker to the line, repeatedly.

I feel ya, but I agree with Quin on that one. If you can win you can win without hacking or flopping, respecting the game as you should. Quin took the last timeout only because he respected the game and he respected his players' effort. Doc did not do it last game.

With Gobert we would have won this game and been up 2-0. I'm not upset about the first two games. We did exactly what we needed to do and that was take a game. Hopefully we'll have Rudy back for game 3. He's the reason our small ball lineups work. If he doesn't play then Quin needs to adjust and play a bigger lineup more often. We can't get worked in the paint like that and win.

Deandre just such a monster on the glass... unless we steal the ball im not sure we ever get a stop.

Look at what their team is when deandre isn't on the court... we aren't quite that bad without Rudy but that guy makes a huge difference.

They basically trap every Withey pick and he really doesn't do anything with it.

Joe Johnson and Boris Diaw combined for 54 minutes, mostly at the PF position and combined for 2 total rebounds.

I mean our biggest inside presence is out... so yeah they are going to dominate us physically. We make a few more shots and we are fine... couple whistles go our way it'd be nice.

Tough to be physical with inconsistent whistles.

I thought the officiating was decent, especially for a Kane F. game.

I respectfully disagree.
He is paid to help the team win within the rules.

Not hacking BJ may be a losing play. At least tonight.

Those bait attempts on 3, whether legit or not, are just so hit or miss on whether they are called (unless your name is James Harden).

They should have called it on the ground then. Hayward does not exaggerate contact or flop... he should get the benefit of the doubt... not the flopping whiners.

Watching the Jazz play offense tonight, I realized how good Rudy Gobert is at setting picks. I think the Jazz offense misses him.

I think the Jazz need to just do some simple high PNR with Hayward or Hill. Get them going downhill against Jordan. Hopefully they can get past him and force the Clippers perimeter players to actually dig in off our shooters.

I'm not too upset. The Jazz did what they needed to do, and it felt like the Clippers just dominated this game yet they won by 8 points.

That being said, damn Rudy being out just really sucks. This team has no answer in the paint with him out and Favors being hobbled.

Flopping and Hacking are apples and oranges Hacking is a "tactic" used by most if not all coaches (minus quin apparently).

What do you mean Doc didn't do it last game?? We don't have a spud like DeAndre from the FT line...

Honestly, thought the Jazz would lose by 20 with all the emotion of the game one win and Clippers blitzing us. Did better than I thought.

Wish Favors was healthy/ier.

If Q is such a basketball 'moralist' he should get that shi* out of Hayward and Hills' games where they flop for the 3.

Yeah, I had no real gripes. The one Hayward 3 attempt thing was a bad no-call, but those are also the calls everyone here claims to hate with a passion. It still should at least be called on teh floor as a foul though. That's probably one of those things Hayward will learn that you just cant rely on the refs to call in a playoff game like you can the regular season.
