Rubio vs Conley

Maybe it is the design of the offense, but what I am not understanding with Conley early this season is his low assists. He is a Tier II PG in this league (!), whose shot is not falling, which happens, but there is no excuse for not shifting to be a more pass-first PG during this time of shooting woes. He should be more of a playmaker for others, more pick and roll with Gobert or pick and pop with Bojan. If Conley can't hit a shot, he should be averaging 6+ assists a game, preferably 8+ a game (although he has never averaged over 6.5), helping others get easier shots.

This season:

Conley:
14.7 PPG, 36.9 FG%, 34.3 3PG%, 2.6 REB, 4 AST, 2.7 TOV

Rubio:
13.6 PPG, 40.9 FG%, 37.5 3PG%, 6.3 REB, 8.7 AST, 2.7 TOV

"Conley is a better shooter."

Still think Rubio is better than Conley? I think the last 4-5 games have proven the point that the Jazz are better with Conley.

Yes, it's the offense....

Look at Rubio's assists BEFORE the Jazz and AFTER. It's not him it's us. Most teams have the PG bringing the ball up every play. Jazz don't. Our offense is complex, much like the Spurs - the team DL learned from and wants to emulate.

Look at Tony Parker's assist average and you'll see what I mean. Sloan's offense and what we had in John Stockton perfecting the pick-and-roll isn't the same offense as what we have now.
