Rudy at P3: 12'3.5'' max vertical reach

Agreed. Eaton's timing was great because his hands were in the way almost all of the time. The dude was ginormous!

Oh my god.
That picture looks fake. Is that an actual un-photoshopped picture?

Eaton was a monster

That's not photoshopped. Eaton was 3-4 inches taller than Gobert and 70lbs heavier. He was a monster.

His opponents certainly wish he was photoshopped. Just check out his video highlights if you doubt any of it. The amazing thing is that he could rarely even get off the bench in college. The Jazz picked him in the 4th round (which the NBA doesn't even come close to bothering to hold anymore) but then Frank Layden did a brilliant job of coaching to his strengths and his career took off.

Athletically going up and down are the tests that everyone focuses on. Which is really dumb.
You spend more time using your agility and side to side movements then up and down.
Proper positioning can fix any lack of up and down movement.
What makes Gobert incredible is his ability to move his feet so quickly.
Agility and quickness are his strengths. Jumping ability is overrated.

Which is also why Kawhi Leonard was(/is?) an underrated athlete. Dude's ability to stay balanced and change direction is ridiculous.

Strength matters a lot too. If you get bumped out of position, then your quickness and agility doesn't matter a lot.

Absolutely. Kawhi isn't an explosive leaper, but his combination of strength, balance and agility for a wing player is probably second only to LeBron.

Yup. Lower body strength is definitely important. Remember how much trouble Snaq used to have when he was guarded by your boy, Malone?

I didn't watch back then, but it looks like Shaq put up some pretty good numbers against Utah when Malone played: LINK

Malone's minutes vs. Snaq were definitely spot minutes, so I'm sure you can thank Ostertag and others for those offensive numbers.
