Yeah, that's why signing max extensions isn't always a no brainer. If the player is willing to take a discount for security then yeah, it is a much easier choice. They did that so they would have cap to sign Lamarcus Aldridge.
?
Too bad they drafted Trey Burke over Dennis Schroder.. These extensions would be even more glorious. His contract is a great bargain for ATL moving forward.
Team would be better and much younger. Then the Jazz make the playoffs last season and use the 1st rd pick on Wade Baldwin (whos physical profile is very similar to Hill's and he looks like a competent defender already)
sign Harrison Barnes and keep Chris Johnson instead of Joe Johnson + trading for Diaw..

They were absolutely sure, he told them as much.If you are absolutely sure that a restricted agent will sign with you, then yeah. If they sign elsewhere and you match it could just as easily screw you with the last year player option. Better to control your own fate in most cases except that one throwaway "everyone has a max slot" year.
I agree. $100,000,000.00 is a TON of coin. Happy for him for sure but there is just mad money in sports. But you know Rudy will work as hard as ever no matter how much he makes.
You are one weird guy.I guess it's also what you do with the jersey? If you're gonna play basketball with it and you're a guard, it would 'look' funny wearing Gobert's jersey.
But with Hayward because he plays SG, SF, PF (potentially), one could argue it's a more versatile jersey to have.

He is GREAT defensively, there is no question about that.
But for Hassan Whiteside signed for the same money and he gives you so much more offensively.
I wonder how much work he does offensively during the offseason? I haven't seen much improvements unfortunately year-to-year.

I'd take Gobert over Whiteside every time.
Rudy looks like he's working and improving his game. I just hope he doesn't ak47 the jazz. Kirilenko screwed the jazz for years with his max deal.

Giving up on players 3 games into the season is ridiculous. Almost everyone has done it.
