Take it with a pinch of salt:

According to the guy in this thread: https://forums.realgm.com/boards/viewtopic.php?f=33&t=1494835 the person who posted the rumor on the clutchfans board is an insider with sources and most people in that thread take it relatively seriously.

Comments? Would you like such signing? How much would you give him and what type of contract would you give him?

I kind of feel like it doesn't make much sense for us. We have other priorities and we will have money crunch as soon as next year, we can't really afford to give him what it would take to pry him away from HOU.

I think he's worth a shot. Those stretchy lineups look really good so far with Favors playing hurt or sitting.

Do it!! If the price is right, and he shoots it well from 3 this has some upside. He's a bit redundant with Lyles but can also play some 5 in small-ball situations.

True. And I have been wondering how Burks could look with these stretchy lineups. I have seen more slashing lately and cutting to the hoop due to the extra space. Burks seems tailor made for cutting and slashing to the rim in the stretchy lineup and he also has become a very good 3 point shooter as well so he wouldn't negatively affect the stretchiness.

He is a RFA, we don't need to trade anyone.

The question is how much do you offer and how many years.

I don't think we can afford him past this current year and I think we would be much better served to use the capspace we have right now to front-load a Favors or Hill contract.

For Burks and Mack

In the early part of the video he sure moves like a 7 ft. point guard. His fluidity is really impressive. So is his passing. Later in the video he looks like he's not moving quite as well. He had back surgery and some complications after his comeback but had 14 pts. 13 Reb. in a game during last years playoffs.

He seems to have a lot of confidence and maybe he's the kind of guy that you bring in and he plays hard and with gratitude.

Reading clutchfans and laughing at them.

About how DMO on the Jazz means he'd be dead to them, jazz are a "desperate" team that will overpay, "Jazzhole" (at least it's new)...

Reading how salty the fans are over DMO not wanting to be a Rocket is fairly entertaining.

Lol they are just trash. A crap team with even worse fans. I hope we get them in the first round so we can bounce them from the playoffs for the hundredth time.

So what appears to be the case is that DMo wanted either a short-term high value contract or a long-term medium value contract. The Rockets didn't offer either. Reports are that they offered 1 year 7M. So we are really talking about offering him somewhere between 7 and 13.65M(the capspace we have). I guess if we can't reach an agreement with Favors or Hill for renegotiation and extension, this becomes a good option to spend the money - pay him the 13.65 for this year and possibly for another one?

And with that said, I wonder why the Nets haven't tried to give him that type of money already? They can afford to give him 12-13M for several years without much problem.
