Rumor: Utah Jazz Could Help Cavs Create Trade Exception

Why the Hell would we want anything to do with Brendan Haywood? How does that help the Jazz? Don't need any of their draft picks either. . .

I would hope this is a three way trade that nets us something better than a late pick and Haywood that we would just have to buy out. But I guess if that is all the trade is, then its worth it to get a late first for our extra cap space this year.

I would hope they would wait until the trade deadline to do this type of trade in case something better comes along.

Haywood is completely unguaranteed. Lindsey will do this to acquire a second round pick, and help clear out the roster a little bit.

Jazz would have to trade or cut players to do the deal. Not sure the gain of a 2nd rounder is worth getting rid of Cooley, Motum, etc. Portland and Philly can do deal with Cavs without waiving or trading anyone, especially since Cavs want the trade exception not any players.

You don't do it for the 2nd rounder.
You do for the loss of trey burke.

We've already got two Treys and two Burkes while nearly having two Bookers. There'd be a decent but of confusion as half the league thinks our max guy's name is Haywood.

Jazz aren't dumping Burke for a 2nd rounder.

They were entertaining Burke trades at the draft, supposedly. I'm sure they got some offers to dump him for a 2nd round pick.

They would cut his non guaranteed contract. They would likely be trading a couple of our non guarantee contracts to get him, and a pick or two. They would not really have anything to do with him.

Just a tad over-the-top.
Addition by subtraction.
Poor defender, poor distributor, I remember seeing a stat that he was the worst shooter in nba history or something for a player who took as many shots as he did, doesnt get to the line.

He is a good dribbler though. We would really miss his dribbling.

Jazz traded kanter and got better. I think the same thing might happen if we trade trey. The old addition by subtraction situation

The Tad double down?

Speaking of, I saw your boy Sidney Lowe as 3rd on a list of having the worst shooting season of all time. I'm blaming him. Maybe Black Trey can resurrect himself now that Coach Sid is gone.

My boy sidney lowe lol. Never heard of him till a he joined the jazz staff and have had no opinion on him since then.

I didn't think trey would be and good from the before he was even drafted.

His career so far has done nothing to change my opinion of him...... In fact he has been worse than I thought he would be

The only reason I knew who he was before he coached here was because as a kid I collected basketball cards. I got his card once in a pack looked at his stats on the back and thought my god!! Worst player ever. So when he joined the org as a coach I thought my god!! We have the worst player to ever play coaching the Jazz and things just went down hill from there.

Getting rid of Kanter was addition by subtraction because it increased Gobert's minutes and role. If ,say, Booker was Kanter's replacement, the team would not have improved simply by getting rid of Kanter.

I think Burke is pretty worthless as a player. However, since his salary is so low, it makes little sense to get rid of him for nothing. Freeing up minutes for Cotton or Neto is pretty meaningless. And there is always the slim chance that Burke will improve.
