Meet your new Tank Commanders...

We'll do what Portland did last year. Decent starters with one of the worst benches of all time allowing us to lose every game down the stretch.

They only ended up with #10 pick though. If we're gonna only 'tank' once in a decade, I'd say we better do a good job of it!!!

They also had Lillard and Aldridge, I doubt we'll be as good. All I mean is down the stretch they were mysteriously terrible. You let the young guys compete, but lose a LOT of games.

Would be awesome if we have the foresight to let this happen.

I bet we get to the all-star break with 18-20 wins and a few games out of 8th, then win like 8 games in the second half while the bench plays in a lot of tight games and blows them all.

We were all starving for Barnes or Thompson, but you have to be happy we are tanking. That's the bottom line for me.

Yes. And the 14 first rounder plus a future isn't bad. We were freaking out when it was just space for the three contracts, but with 2 future firsts it's not bad.

Plus, the roster is now filled out and we didn't blow our load on Mayo or Millsap or anyone else who could stop the young guys from getting some minutes. Rush is actually a really nice player.

Yup. Took me a minute to get over the thought that we might be able to steal Barnes or Thompson, but now I'm pretty freaking excited about this trade.

Next year is a throw away year. Good development for Kanter, Favors, and Burks, plus the obvious display of Trey Burke. Other than that do not expect many positives until lottery night. Good to see though. This is a players league, and great players do not come to utah in free agency. A player like Wiggins would forever transform Jazz basketball, although I imagine the FO might take Jabari just because there is a better chance he will stay long term. He has family in utah, and fits the culture more for obvious reasons. I don't agree with that, but after so many big time free agents have left the teams that drafted them over the last decade, it would not surprise me.

I don't know **** so forgive me if I'm way off, but by only taking experings didn't we just put our cap space in a safety deposit box for a little while? Wouldn't everyone's wettest dream be somehow getting an unrealistically high draft pick next year, sort of like landing Burke this year? Will we still have flexibility for something like that?

That is the gamble that Lindsey didn't want to take. 24 million could get you a mid first round pick next year. For instance if Brooklyn's vets are injury plagued and they are on line to miss the playoffs, we could save them somewhere in the neighborhood of 60 million (figuring in luxury tax) by taking on Humphries and Pierce (both expiring).
