Kevin Durant and Westrbook went like 22-60 for two straight years.

I like this too. I don't have any idea whether it will translate into wins, but I think the Jazz will be better off in the long-term because of it. January gives them 16 potential practice days, and 11 trips between games. That's a blessing for a team with no summer camp, shortened training camp, at least two rookies and three second-year players. They can practice more often, and with less travel they can maybe go a little bit harder.

On the other hand, January could look like March (12 potential practice days and 17 trips). Ugly.
 
It also nice that we don't have our first game till the 27th. This will allow our guys to get in an extra practice or two before the season begins.

I'm wondering with all those early home games how well attended the games will be. Will the Jazz have to win back fans due to the lockout. If they do, poor attendance could also be bad for our young guys.
 
I like the hectic schedule. It could just be the NBA withdrawls I'm having, but at least this seems to be the hard core smack to make up for it.

I feel like everything you said about our players is true. But, I'm not worried about a 20-46 season. I am confident we will have something close to a .500 season. Yes, we do have a lot of young talent on our team, but we also have quite a few hungry vets. And it seems like every single player is out to make a point this year. I believe that we will do well, Cj be damned.
 
One interesting thing I noticed is the Jazz only play Portland in division 4 times, the rest (Denver/Minnesota/OKC) they play 3 times. Guess they couldn't figure out a way for them to play each game in division 4 times.

I'm with you. This season is the first in quite some time where I feel happy to see new guys play and to see how the team gels, regardless of the results. That being said I'm sure I'll get as mad as anyone if they look like crap out there. It's one thing for them to lose, but it's another for them to play awful.

If we are hovering in mediocrity I think I'd rather go 20-46 than 33-33. I'd be unhappy either way, but one of those leads to a great pick in a stacked draft.

....obviously, I was just kidding! The fact of the matter is we don't know what we have with this Jazz team....and won't have an inkling until at least 10 games into the season. What we do know is this isn't your father's Jazz team from years gone by. Will we play team ball....or hopper ball? Will Corbin insist on unselfish play....or just roll the ball out on the court and say "have at it guys, it's your game!"

I doubt it will be affected much, especially in Utah. If they had missed the entire season, then yes it could have been really bad. Any animosity that fans have will be countered by the excitement to watch new young players in Utah.

Remember folks, it doesn't really matter where GS finishes record wise. What matters is where they end up after the Lottery. Technically GS could have the 5th worst record, but if 3 teams pass them in the Lottery they fall to 8, and we get their pick. Also, if their record is the 8th -14th worst record in the league, but they win the Lottery and jump into the top 3, then we miss out.

And as far as the schedule goes, it could have been a lot worse. If the Jazz struggle this year it will be because they aren't a good team, not because of the schedule. No sense in complaining about our schedule, unless your ready to research everyone else's because I can guarantee their's aren't any better.

Aren't we all hoping the Jazz look promising but still retain their lottery pick in what appears to be a very strong draft class?
I'd love to see the Jazz surprise and make the playoffs, but I also realize what might be best for the long-term benefit of the team is to keep their own pick and also get the one from GS. Likely two picks in the latter half of the lottery. Might be able to trade both and move up, or keep them and go PG/SF to strengthen the two weak spots. There will be no changes to the draft this year, but from what I've read talks continue. So if changes are eventually made, the 2013 draft could be extremely weak.
