...without even looking at the schedule...the Jazz will go 0-66.
I hate you but your logic is undeniable.

I agree. However, what concerns me about a 20-46 type season is how that'll affect the psyche of our young core going forward. How would they respond to it? Jefferson's never really won. Has Burks? Colorado didn't even make the tourney last year? Kanter has only played internationally and could wither if things don't go his way, so to speak. Hayward seems to be a winner and Favors' GT team made the Sweet 16 his freshman year I think, which, imo, was overachieving given the point guard play and head coach there but still. Are these guys mentally tough and do they have that Alpha male, nothing's gonna stop me nor us, type attitude in the long run? I guess only time will tell and like you said, we should simply enjoy the season.
i think I'm hoping for 29-37 or better.
I like this too. I don't have any idea whether it will translate into wins, but I think the Jazz will be better off in the long-term because of it. January gives them 16 potential practice days, and 11 trips between games. That's a blessing for a team with no summer camp, shortened training camp, at least two rookies and three second-year players. They can practice more often, and with less travel they can maybe go a little bit harder. What stands out, though, is the stretch of 13 of 16 at home.

Only one back-to-back-to-back. They are all away games Feb. 12-14 Memphis, New Orleans and then the thunder!
I'm with you. This season is the first in quite some time where I feel happy to see new guys play and to see how the team gels, regardless of the results. That being said I'm sure I'll get as mad as anyone if they look like crap out there. It's one thing for them to lose, but it's another for them to play awful.Don't measure this season in wins and losses - just enjoy it. For once The Jazz have some real talented young players with legitimately high ceilings - instead of the usual bunch of over-acheiving second rounders and interchangeable, "heady" veterans that they picked up off the dung heap (save for Raja Bell of course)
Getting to watch a full season of Derrick Favors will be worth the cost of NBA League Pass alone.
Anyone know if the NBA package is available via Verizon Fios?
I feel like everything you said about our players is true. But, I'm not worried about a 20-46 season. I am confident we will have something close to a .500 season. Yes, we do have a lot of young talent on our team, but we also have quite a few hungry vets. And it seems like every single player is out to make a point this year. I believe that we will do well, Cj be damned.

It also nice that we don't have our first game till the 27th. This will allow our guys to get in an extra practice or two before the season begins.
I'm wondering with all those early home games how well attended the games will be. Will the Jazz have to win back fans due to the lockout. If they do, poor attendance could also be bad for our young guys.
If they lose they keep their draft pick in a nice draft. So even when they lose they can't lose.
Hopefully GS will have the 8th worst record.
I have low expectations and I'm still really excited.
So despite the shortened season, we still play the Lakers and Dallas four times. Great.
Is anyone aware of they fairly constructed these schedules?
