What's new

Screw it.. GAME #82 Jazz playing another basketball game in Memphis 4/17 6PM Utah Time ESPN

You might be surprised how differently a corporate culture can view a seemingly minuscule difference in results. 0.1% on the up-side of the line can result in group-wide congratulations and promotions, while 0.1% on the down-side means sweeping changes and everyone is replaced. That line can be more meaningful than you'd think (and more meaningful than logic would dictate).

With that being said, the current betting lines on the games are: 5 points to Memphis, and 3 points to the Lakers. So we need to see TWO upsets tomorrow night! Go Jazz!

I wouldn't be surprised, surprisingly enough. I still don't think Lindsey and KOC are wondering if they think Ty is a good coach, waiting for the results tonight to figure out what they think. They know what they think about Ty and they don't need tonight's results in order to figure it out.

Pretty sure Marc would like to prove that he's better than his older bro', especially since it is widely thought that he isn't, at least it was when he was drafted.

I always root to win no matter what the circumstances, so Go Jazz!

Jazz on their biggest road winning streak all year (3 in a row) and uhmm what is the Jazz record so far this year when on ESPN?
Maybe they're due to break that streak and combine that with the their longest road winning streak since 2010.

OKC and Jazz got kind of chippy. A bit of blood between the teams. I want to watch 'em go at each other playoff style.

GO JAZZ.

I'm not done watching this team, more ball to be played.

GO JAZZ.

I want to see Dwight shrivel under pressure.

Go Jazz.

I would rather watch Utah Jazz lose in the first round than the Lakers.

Go Jazz.

Ty is playing Favors more, Milsap less.

Go Jazz.

I want to see the Jazz team celebrate for making the playoffs.

Go Jazz.

I want to watch the Lakers cry.

Go Jazz.

Ty Corbin needs to coach in the playoffs.

Go Jazz.

Greg & KOL need to watch Ty coach in the playoffs.

Go Jazz.

Many of the roster issues will take care of themselves this summer playoffs or not.

Go Jazz.

This board has been divided too long, we need the playoffs.

Go Jazz.

Really good post...... though not really how I feel.

I have been back and forth about the jazz making the playoffs and I still feel that way.

Like cyrone said, if they make the playoffs then I get to watch more jazz games (and if they don't make the playoffs I have to wait so long for more games).

On the other hand, moving up a couple spots in the darft could mean a lot if the guy we want goes around 14 and we are picking 17ish. (plus missing the playoff gives us a very very small chance to win the lottery)

Then I think, screw the lakers I don't want them to get in the playoffs over us.

But of course whoever gets the 8th spot will just get embarrassed by OKC.

Plus there is a better chance (however small) that major changes happen if we miss the playoffs.

So basically the outcome tonight (for me at least) is a win/win situation..... should be fun game to watch and while watching the actual game I don't really have the ability to root for them to lose, so I will be cheering for a win during the game even though im flip flopping right now........ Go Jazz?

Any word on if Memphis is going to play to win or rest their players?

Also if Utah does not make the playoffs, or when they are knocke dout, Memphis is my team.

Go Jazz! Go Grizzlies!

The starters are playing. It's a question of how many minutes though. Like I've said a million times, they only played 20-25 minutes during the Dallas game, so I would be surprised if they go over that.

We can beat them no matter who plays how long.

I am much more concerned with Lakers game and the leagues desire for them to win today.

I realize we brought this all on ourselves, but it would be fun to get in. I think we can win 2 against OKC

I agree and we already have this season. The game we los tin Memphis was by 9. Jazz were in that game and just couldn't get over the hump.

Hear me now, oh, thou bleak and unbearable world
Thou art base and debauched as can be
And a knight with his banners all bravely unfurled
2488036608_f653e30c37_z.jpg

Now hurls down his gauntlet glory

I am I, Derrick Favors the Lord of the basket
1116461.jpg
My destiny calls and I go
And the wild winds of fortune will carry me onward
Oh, whither soever they blow
Whither soever they blow, onward to glory I go

Too much negative on here, too many people want to make this about the past. This game is about the future. 3/4 of the Core will play in the biggest game of their Jazz days, and those who are winners will stand up, and those who accept the challenge will play with heart, and those who can overcome will fight, and those who want to win, who hate to lose, who will fight for victory will prove themselves tonight. This is not about a season of confusion, this is about the future. Go Jazz.

Mellow for president of jazzfanz.

Anywho.

Let's go Jazz. One of my best friends is a Laker fan (I know), and we already have a bet going. I have to wear full Laker jumpsuit with his 2010 Lakers championship hat, if the Lakers make the playoffs tonight.

Besides that, I love this team. Al is probably a goner, and so are half of the others.

Just because I don't want them on this team next season, doesn't mean I don't have any undying curiosity as to how far this team can go.

Great, great group of guys. Love watching them support each other on/off the court, and it would be nice to cap off a weird-malaise period in Utah Jazz history by making the playoffs one more time before our full rebuild.

Lets go Utah!!!!!!! Currently wearing my Stockton jersey.

Wont be able to watch most of the game (I have a final @ 9:00am tomorrow) but I will be silently praying all day long.

Let's get 'em!!!!!!

PS: ESPN has the Jazz making the playoffs as a 12.4% probability.

I've been torn like many people on here. I cannot root for the Jazz to lose, and I'd love to see more Jazz games. However, I don't know if I want to see us get man handled in 4 games by OKC. We aren't gonna win the lottery if we miss the playoffs but it does give us a slightly better draft position, which could be really valuable. I say whatever happens, happens and I'll still root for my team.

Great posts Mello and Sandy Vag!

I love the Jazz and always will. I don't always love each player individually, but don't wish ill on any of them. I still want to see them make the playoffs and knock out the Lakers despite Al's defense being frustrating or Mo jacking jumpers whenever the clock goes under 2 mins!

I live in Laker land. Listening to some of the media here slurp the Laker's milk steaks and the sudden anxiety hitting the airwaves over the past couple of months has been great! My schadenfreude is on full blast and despite the low odds of everything going the Jazz's way tonight, at least for the next few hours I can be filled with hope and excitement about the possibilities of what I will be feeling at 10PM tonight after the Laker's end up losing to Houston!

Go Jazz!

Arise! Now is the time to save us and lead us!!!!

Dumb Kids:We like you because you cheer for the Lakers to win, Jazz Fans are cowards.

O'Reilly: Don't you ever say that again about Jazz Fans, because they are not cowards. You think I am brave because I am a Lakers fan? Well, Jazz fans are much braver because they carry dissappointment. And this dissappiontment is like a big rock that weighs a ton. It bends and it twists them until finally it buries them under the ground. And there's nobody says they have to do this. They do it because they love they love, they love the Jazz, and because they want to. I have never had this kind of courage. Cheering for a small market team, trying to build a team through the draft with no guarantee anything will ever come of it. This is bravery. That's why I never even started being a Jazz fan like that... that's why I never will.
