Shocking stat for us "build through the draft people."

Isn't this like saying that the Charlotte Bobcats will win the NBA title if they draft Bazz next year.

A better question to ask, (which I don't have the time to look up since I'm at work on a cell phone), would be how many of the past 20 championship teams got their best 2 or 3 guys through the draft vs trades or signings

Well, let's just go back thru the last few championship teams (just the last 10) and see how they got their best players:

Miami 2012: Lebron, Bosh - FA. Wade - draft (pick 5).
Dallas 2011: Nowitzki, Kidd, Chandler - trade.
LAL 2010, 2009: Kobe, Gasol, Odom - trade. Bynum - draft (pick 10)
Boston 2008: Garnett, Allen, Perkins, Rondo - trade. Pierce - draft (pick 10)
SAS 2007, 2005: Duncan, Parker, Ginobli - draft (picks 1, 28, 57).
Miami 2006: Shaq, Walker - trade. Wade - draft (pick 5).
Detroit 2004: Billups - FA. R Wallace, Hamilton, B Wallace - trade.
SAS 2003: Robinson, Duncan, Parker, Ginobli - draft (picks 1, 1, 28, 57). S Jackson - FA.

Thanks for putting that together. I would only add one thing and that is Prince to the Pistons. That team won because they played as a team instead of a few superstars. Prince was drafted if I remember right.

Prince was drafted by Detroit at Pick 23.

Building through the draft is overrated. The Jazz just need to sign guys like Nash and then trade for guys like Howard and we'll be fine.

Bwaahaaa. JK. Those guys suck. Utah gonna whoop some *** by taking the path through the 8th seed and then adding superstars like Williamsx2 and Murphy. Lakers aint gonna know what hit 'em.

In just his 2nd season. Had a little help from Oscar Robertson, one of the few NBAers to average a triple double earlier in his career. Saw them play; one of the most dominant teams ever.

Looks to me like the Jazz need to find great players in the draft that are not top picks,

like Wade Parker, Ginoblium Prince Bynum Pierce
sure it's not easy, but somebody is going to do it , that is what has to be done.

Few points: every championship team has had nineish players that played for the championship, not three. If you look at every team in the league you will find players that flamed out who were drafted. The Jazz don't have a number one pick, they have a two, two threes, a ninth pick, a 12th pick and that's who I can think of right now. The Jazz aren't devoid of talent, it just comes down to chemistry right now, and I like our chances.

Yeah, this thread is what happens when you trust what you hear on the radio.

News these days = make **** up that makes me look good.
