Should a business be allowed to discrimate on the basis of a customer's sexual orientation?

I don't think anyone should be able to discriminate anyone else if their business is open to the public, with some exceptions (say a tshirt shop shouldn't have to print something really offensive if they don't want to).

so who decides which of those cake texts(or t-shirt texts) is offensive. cake or t-shirt same ****

for example in today world people might find this cake offensive
Its_a_Boy_Blue_Cake.jpg

it "assumes" gender maybe that boy is transsgender. it is imposing a "socail construct of gender" on a person because he or she or it has a penis.

i put some cakes i consider offensive. funny and normal in it. but even a cake i consider normal like the "it's a boy cake" could be considered offensive to the lbgtq+community.

simpel if i go to a shop and it is a lbgtq+ owned shop and they dont want to make me a "it's a boy cake" is say ok have a nice day and take my business elsewehere.

forcing the queer guy to bake an "its a boy cake" is WRONG

edit: lots more offensive cakes out there. but i think these get through the mod filter

so a tshirt printer can deny a certiain text on a shirt because liberals deem it offense.
but baker cant resume customization to a wedding cake cus it offends religion.

seems legit!

I have no problems with a baker denying customization to a cake that he finds offensive. However, as long as the same rules apply to everyone regardless of their sexual orientation/race/religion/etc.

For example, a baker who doesn't want to design a cake showing two men, two women, or a man/woman kissing is fine with me. It's when they are selective about what they are denying is when I have a problem with it.

In this case I don't even think the issue was about the customization on the cake. It was him refusing to make a pretty standard cake in general just because the couple was gay. As far as I know they didn't request the cake to say "I love gay marriage" or anything like that.

it is just sad people want to force others to provide them a custom baked cake

Just to be clear, the only people concerned with being converted to homosexuality, are individuals with bi-sexual urges who were raised as homophobes, and are afraid they may someday give in to their taboo desires. Those of us who are truly straight or gay, don't have such concerns, as we know without a doubt which way we swing.
.
That's right, dutch is bi. Your secret is out.

I'm not saying Dutch is gay or anything, but this was totally me before I came out of the closet. Though I don't think I was ever afraid of "converting" to gay, that's just silly. I was just afraid of succumbing to it.

No, I said you weren't bi or gay. I was talking about myself right there.

I don't think you can convert people's sexual orientations, bro. Trust me, I tried being straight or my first 19 years of life. (Well, really only since puberty, since that's when I knew for sure I was gay.)

You can't convert someone who is straight or gay, but people(like dutch) who are attracted to both sexes, might find they prefer one over the other at some point. In theory, bi-sexuals who are in denial may be susceptible to conversion, or at the very least, experimentation.

You don't sound bi to me, tho. You sound more likely gay, but probably resisted due to outside influences/upbringing, no?
