If the government would quit spending money that it doesn't have we wouldn't be having this conversation.
The only Federal tax plan I approve of is the one in the Constitution. Tariffs.
Make the big international cartels who exploit cheap foreign labor and dodge the hard-won decent wages we used to have in this country, and all our infrastructure costs, and all our social "safety net" costs, and all our regulations and environmental and social ethics. . . . . make them support the government by paying a whopper tariff on imported goods, produced by evading every decent law we ever made in the vain hope of reforming elitists and cartelists and international scammers.
yep. No more income tax on wages, or even on businesses who do their productive work inside our boundaries.
Oh, and a 20% "severance tax" on every dollar taken out of our country. And a similar "export" tax on both resources shipped out and finished goods. Companies taking advantage of our resources should at least contribute something to our society.
We could also pretty well eliminate property tax in this state by simply privatizing education whole hog. No reason people should pay to have their kids propagandized by a Statist religion.
Ideas like this would pretty well make all the dodgey tax strategies go away, and return our financial practices to decisions made for simple prudence.
But of course, if we continue to enlarge our Statist political empires, everything we have will eventually be consumed by the insatiable unbridled extravagance of state power. Including our families, our health, and our sanity.
What we are doing now is the very antithesis of people having the natural right to life, liberty and the pursuit of their own notion of happiness.
