What's new

Show your man love to Favors. It's overdue!!!

Favors has taken some major strides this year. Looks like a whole different player. He's putting all together.

That Deron trade is looking more and more terrible for Brooklyn by the minute. Billy King really screwed up that team. I'm still amazed he's not fired yet

Prokhorov found out you can't just murder your employees in the U.S. so he's decided to sell the team. At the time of the trade, a lot of people felt we didn't get enough in return.

I'm going to say we got Favors, Kanter, Gobert and Harris (which later became Marvin Williams). The reason I say Gobert is that I think the Jazz would have taken him at 21 (the GS pick) had they not used it to move up. Just Favors for Williams, straight up, would have been a win for Utah.

By that logic, you'd be giving KOC credit for Gobert, which wouldn't be accurate. DL gets credit for Rudy.

I don't think its coincidence that he's played a lot better when playing at PF. That is where he will be able to excel in this league, not at C.

Favors = Great
Gobert = Great, potentially super-star defensive center

Kanter = why does he get PT again?

Because he's still young and improving and he has a solid offensive game. Ideally, the Jazz can convince the league that his ceiling is in the Kevin Love range and trade him in a package for a #1 option wing to pair with Hayward. Right now he's scoring 14 points per game and pulling down 7 rebounds per game. If the Jazz start bringing him off the bench and pairing him with Gobert for quality stretches, I can easily see those averages move upward. If they can improve Kanter's value and package him with some of their many draft picks. . . I could see them getting a really good player to add to the developing core of Gobert, Favors, Hayward, Burks and Exum. If they can't flip him for an All-Star caliber player, I'd rather see them hang on to him and try again in 2016.

Derrick Favors got $5 million less than what Tristan Thompson turned down. Rich Paul Get That Money

I saw that on twitter. Behind Steph Curry, Derrick Favors may have the best non-rookie contract. Will be a crime if we end up paying Kanter more than Favors.

Favors must have a dumb agent.

Yes, it will be a crime if Kanter is paid more.

Favors has said that he just wanted to be here. I'm not sure he cared about the extra money as much as the stability. He could have pulled a Hayward and probably gotten a similar contract to Hayward. Part of what makes Favors my favorite player on the team is that he did that. The other reason being that I have believed since last year that he was our best player.

He is 10th in FG percentage and PER.

Might be told before but doesn't hurt to mention it more than a few.

He's taken a step this year along with Hayward. It's taken time and patience with both. Favors seems to be coasting at times, but we cant deny the improvement in overall game. I enjoy watching the Jazz most when Favors and Gobert are on the floor together.

Gobert had nothing to do with the Nets trade. Even if we would have picked him with the Golden State pick, that was from a completely different trade where we got Richard Jefferson and Biedrins.

We hosed the Nets though. Terrible move on their part. Even if it was only Favors for D Will, we still made out like bandits.
