Significant Other

My wife and I were living in the same apartment complex. We didn't really know each other but knew who each other were. She spoke in church once and I later told her good job which, to this day, I insist she did not respond to, though she claims otherwise. Didn't really talk to her for a bit after that but then was helping set up an activity with her and talked briefly. Later that night decided I'd ask her out next time I saw her which ended up being like 2 months later. First date was mid-December. Went to laser tag. Somehow the topic of people getting married quickly came up and she said something how she couldn't see how anyone could ever get engaged without dating at least 6 months. We were engaged a month later and then married three months after that. That was 9.5 years ago. We've got 4 kids and essentially spend all of our time together (outside of me working) as we really don't have any competing interests (and because we enjoy it).

Funny, I started dating my fiancé a year ago today.

She is from Switzerland and we met at Ministry School in Northern CA 2 years ago. Met her like a month into school, and we became best friends right away, spending most our time together. Visited her in Switzerland a year ago for fun and realized I liked her more than a friend (duh) and we started dating after the trip. We got engaged a couple months ago, wedding in June.

Would have never thought in a million years I'd marry someone who wasn't from America!

This has been posted before but I'll repeat it...

Met my wife when I was 19. She worked at a pet store and asked if she could help me. She was gorgeous, had an electric smile and and I instantly fell in love. I didn't see her again for 4 years.

4 years later I was working part time evenings and weekends for a little extra cash. The company had a party. I showed up with my girlfriend and found that I had been working at the same place as my future wife for several months and didn't know it. She worked in accounting during the days so we simply never crossed paths. The girlfriend of 2 years and I had been having issues for a few months and finding my future wife again sealed the deal. I broke up with the girlfriend that night. Mrs. Scat and I had our first date on July 2nd and we were married on Nov 30th that same year. We celebrated our 26th wedding anniversary this past Nov.

We actually grew up in the same small town so we've known each other our whole life, but it wasn't until we each moved away for college and came back for the summer from our respective colleges, that there was any interest. We were together for 2 weeks when I was 23, broke up but got back together 2 years later. (married a year later)

Redding?

In the UFO section of a local bookstore. "Have you ever seen a UFO?" is not the most traditional pick up line. She had had a remarkable close encounter as a child, and I and a friend were researching a local case, which, come to find out, involved one of her cousins. Well, RI is a small state. We married when I was 50 and she was 49. First marriage for both. It's been near 20 years now, and the flying saucers still have not returned:-) Soul mates for sure. Only thing we ever argue about is politics. Curse the 2016 election, lol.....
