Significant Other

We worked at the same place, and I would see her in the break room, usually sitting by herself reading, and it was usually science fiction. So, I liked her taste in books. We started talking, and then one day I said, "Hey, a bunch of us are going to the bar after work, do you want to come with? Oh, do you have fake ID?"

Turns out she was 26, but I swear I thought she was 19 or 20. We've now been together 24 years.

You know, I've never been in a relationship for longer than 6 months but in these last coupla weeks I've found myself stumbling into another.

My friend does lots of photography and she was trying to expand her wedding portfolio-- so she wanted to shoot a mock wedding with a couple. She had tracked down two models with actual experience and stuff, but the dude bailed last minute. The woman was 24, pretty tall, and half-Croatian, so she was desperate to find someone that would kinda complement that in her mind or whatever.

She hits me up 2 days before, asking me to do it (I've never modelled, I don't consider myself extremely attractive in any sort of contemporary sense) but I obviously say yes cuz I figure this is prolly as good looking as I'll ever be.

--

I go, find out its wedding photography, and we're totally going through all of these intimate poses. She's basically guiding me at every step, and I'm fighting to try and be as cool and professional as I can be. We all know that goosebumpy feeling when you're holding another person, feeling her breath on you, and making eye contact and stuff. I dunno. She was insanely pretty & charming.

I leave that night, but come back to the photographer's rural acridge for a dinner, and I was placed right next to her. We chat lots, and have an awesome time. My ride stood up & prepared to leave, and she looks at me asking me to stay the night (until this point, I hadn't the slightest idea that she might have taken an interest in me). I tell her that I was better off leaving, but then I asked her out to coffee. She said "I'd like that", and smiled.

We've been hangin ever since. Still getting to know her, and being patient with how things move. She's a vegetarian nurse who loves dogs and cooking.

Is she also passionate about not having sex?

Nice! I'm getting at least a bronze.

OK, well, to answer your original question...

Ya, the ex thing was... a beautiful thing.
We are much better not together than we ever were together... I'll just leave it at that.
Divorcing her may have been the best thing I ever did for myself. And probably for her too.
So there you go.

now that that's out of the way, he'd like you to say something boastful about yourself from back in High School.... so that he can boast harder. tia. Let's get this process closer to its inevitable conclusion.

OK.

In high school, I kissed a girl... and I liked it.

Should have stayed the night, tbh.

I'd rather take it slow & see if I actually vibe with her, as opposed to bumping bellies and then realizing that things might not work out 3 weeks later *shrugs shoulders*

I'd rather bang and then figure out the rest later.

That's admirable. You typically seem to make rational and informed decisions, so this case shouldn't be any different.

I'm selfishly hoping you 'vibe' tho so you don't end up throwing away a sure thing. Better to have ****ed and lost than to have never ****ed at all.
