What's new

since trey's return we are 7-8

And if the draft pick/lottery doesn't work then we're the Kings. Yay!

Kings will be better than twolves next season book it. I'd rather take my chances with the draft then not. What would we lose besides 1 season? Srs. How does winning games this year make us better next year?

I'd love to take your money if I knew you. The Kings might (a big might) have more talent but we all know they lack character.

If the Jazz don't show improvement this year than we're in serious trouble. Corbin can only take so much of the blame for the team.

And my questions.

Jabari could turn that Kings team around instantly - he has very high character.

Jazz should send Trey down to the D-league for a little while...his blocked shot stats so far has been disappointing and needs some work.

we still have the most losses of any team in the NBA at 22

I hate it when people say crap like this.

What is your point? Do you think because we have the most losses right now that we will end up with the worst record?
This team is too good right now for a top 3 pick and too bad to even sniff the playoffs...... Whoo Hoo awesome

I think you are overreacting. The Jazz are not in serious trouble and they have already shown improvement. You just can't see the big picture. Almost every franchise lost for a few years or a year before they became great. The Jazz are not in danger of becoming the Kings if they make the top 3 this year. Why? Because the Jazz organization is/has been a better run organization. Teams that lack the vision and try to buy their way or trade their way to a championship seldom do. Yes there are exceptions but losing one year or two years doesn't make a franchise a losing franchise.

What happens to most franchises who lose their patience is that they are usually bad for a long time or they stay mediocre for a long time. There are no banners given to teams for playoff appearances. Most pro-tank fans realize this and are willing to be patient to at least attempt to hit the home run that might be the difference between being great and just average.

Burke is a lot better than I thought he was. He certainly is a big part of this team's future and I wouldn't be surprised if he makes multiple all-star games if the Jazz become as good as I think they will in a few years.

have you ever hear dof player development?
or you one of those who think it is a myth

So what even if he does prove to be above average. I would rather get a possible all star/franchise player in this draft than have an above average PG. There is no trophy for above average. Sit his *** on the bench

So we should want the Jazz to be monumental losers until such time as they are a sure thing to win a championship. Do you not understand (of course you don't) that following that course will result in a "tank" that lasts forever. What is confusing to me is why all of you are here on this forum at all. Much easier to just switch to a Heat or perhaps a Trailblazer forum where your team can be champs and you can go buy all the t-shirts proclaiming your superiority to the world. There is even unhappiness with individual players when they play well. Much proclaiming here that you want the Jazz to develop our young players but only if they truly play poorly. One would think we only need a number one pick and we need no other players at all and then we compete for a championship. Fortunate that the Jazz players and front office do not share your views and continue to try to win and improve the brand. Coach Sloan seems to have some respect among the pro-tankers, do any of you think he would (or is) on board with your tanking philosophy?

Do you think any of our players are? Would you be, if you were an actual player? If you would, that alone would explain why you are not professional players yourself.

Agreed. We are looking at an opportunity to transform this franchise for a decade or more. With the GS trade Lindsey announced to me that he was willing and able to take drastic measures to ensure the success of our tank. It was obviously a new era for this team. The start of the season got the hopes up higher, and then inexplicably they cut Tinsley and brought Trey back ahead of schedule. It's as if management or ownership lost their will to see this thing through. Meanwhile we have to keep listening to all these people tell us that there's no reason to panic. A short time ago the worst record was pretty much within our control. Now we're just one of many teams in contention, and definitely not in the best position among them. It feels very much like we are now following the road to mediocrity.

No road runs straight. Always some forks in the road. Which forks we take will ultimately decide where this franchise goes. Management didn't lose their will, they were never going there anyway. You heard what you wanted to hear IMO. Can anyone, anywhere lead me to any quotes from Jazz management or ownership that even imply that they were trying to tank this season? If you can, i will cease and desist arguing this point. Closest thing i have heard is that they were giving the fan base what they wanted which was to develop our young players. If you heard a different message that is because that's what you wanted to hear. That developing our young players would lead to a less competitive team was only obvious. That my friends is not a "tank job"!

You can't be serious. They took on Golden State's absolute trash. Jefferson was thought to be completely washed up its been a huge surprise he is even serviceable. Biedrins....no comment. Rush was recovering from an acl so also a huge risk. One of the worse, low efficiency chucking point guards ever was signed to backup Burke. The Jazz meant to tank, but Burke has just been too good.

There is your answer grandpa...... allah dat is evidence that the jazz intended to tank.

If they were not intending to tank, they would have resigned Millsap, Foye and carroll, picked up a decent point guard (calderon or something) and had a starting lineup of calderon/burke, foye, hayward, millsap, favors...... with a bench of calderon/burke, burks, carroll, marvin, kanter.

We would be competing for the playoffs right now instead of competing for top draft picks.

acquiring biedrins, jefferson, rush, and john lucas...... along with letting millsap, carroll, foye, mo, big al walk is all the evidence i need to know that we were planning to tank.

The league sees trash as Utah sees diamonds in the rough.
I knew for a fact that RJ wasn't as bad as Golden State made him out to be, because Golden State has always been a horribly run franchise.
Rush was low risk because of an expiring contract, and Biedrins was the throw in.
I don't consider this a tank by the front office either, but I did see it as an attempt to fill out pay in the roster.... and try to get players that Corbin hopefully wouldn't start over the young guys.

Grandpa, no front office is ever going to publicly admit that they are tanking. I can't even think of a single incident of a team admitting to it after the fact, and with good reason. But if you don't think that teams in the NBA purposely tank all the time you are not paying very close attention.
