What's new

since trey's return we are 7-8

You can't be serious. They took on Golden State's absolute trash. Jefferson was thought to be completely washed up its been a huge surprise he is even serviceable. Biedrins....no comment. Rush was recovering from an acl so also a huge risk. One of the worse, low efficiency chucking point guards ever was signed to backup Burke. The Jazz meant to tank, but Burke has just been too good.

So, your saying the front office thought that Favors, Hayward, and Burke were so bad they would lead us to a bottom record in the NBA? We took on trash to get assets, and maybe to force Corbin's hand. I would agree there was no goal to make the playoffs. That's not the same as aiming to get the worst record, or even a bottom 3 record.

If not going for the playoffs what were we going for?????

A team that finishes 9-12th in the west this year is an absolute waste!!!

After the offseason I see no other reason for Lindsey to keep Corbin as coach and vets starting other than we were guaranteed a top 3 pick by Stern.

I'd still say that he is average for starting pgs in the NBA. He just looks amazing because we spent a month watching Lucas.

this is what avg rookie pgs do in their 1st season.

1. makes bonehead mistakes. WTF TOs
2. he has potential. let's see what he can do next couple of years. he might be our guy
3. is he pg? is he a combo guard?
4. clutch? lol
5. occasional good stretch
6. questionable handles
7. assist/to ratio? lol
8. leadership? lol

that's the avg rookie pg.

Or the best since Karl, John & Jerry!!!
It's beyond that. There is a very good chance that the next MJ, Kobe or Lebron is in this draft or maybe multiple. By some simple precautions we have a great shot at landing a level of player that only comes around every several years. Those guys=championships. There are other roads to Rome, but they are far less traveled.

This draft has multiple players of a type you only see once every several years?

Yes, but you can't be expected to understand that because you are clearly math challenged.

I'm starting to wonder whether you can even correctly count your own brows.

Two, I can see (and it happened with Bird and Johnson, later with Olajuwon and Jordan). However, you don't get 6 extremely rare players in a single year. Some of it will turn out to be hype. At least 3 of the six will not live up to the hype, and 4 will probably never be the best player on a championship team.

Training is improving at all levels. I have no trouble believing that there are 6 prospects as good as Bird/Johnson/etc. were considered, because the improved training is making that level of talent easier to bring out. However, there will be other drafts this decade with prospects as good as any of these 6 (or at least, all but 2 of them, perhaps).

No this draft class is expected to be terrible on a level never before heard. Silly me.

Because there can't be any in between choices, of course. It must be ludicrously over-talented or ludicrously under-talented, and therefore only describable in oxymoronic terms. Got it.

I really never believed we were bad enough to be worst or 2nd worst in the league by the time the season ended. Now if that happens and we get a top 3 or 4 pick I'm gonna be happy. If it doesn't I will be disappointed but at the same time not surprised. I am glad to see Burke playing so well. He is very impressive for a rookie pg
