What's new

So can we officially say we got the best player in a good draft?

Harpring last night: "There's not a lot of rookie in him."

Which is exactly what I was thinking a few minutes before I heard that. That was fun to watch.

I keep seeing "D-Wade and Lillard", but I see James Harden with defense. Way too early to say but comparison wise as a homer.

I've been seeing this too, some of the eurosteps he's been pulling out near the rim were very "a la Harden" if I may. And what's a fact is that he's more athletic than Harden and like you said, with defense.

U can't deny the C's roster is much more talented then the jazz speaking of Tatum's teammates vs DM's teammates. Who's to say Tatum wouldn't have done the same thing DM has on the jazz. All I'm saying is it's too early to tell, and I think Tatum has potential to be a star

Before the season started a good portion of this board was convinced Jazz would be be a better team than the Celtics this year.

Donovan Mitchell scored 65 points in just over 24 hours. Trey Lyles has scored 62 points this season. Good trade?

We need to tone down the whole Lyles for Mitchell stea... err -- trade. We owe a lot to Denver and shouldn't gloat; otherwise, they may fire their GM and then where do we find another patsy?

Couldn't care less about other players.
This kid is special and it's finally fun to watch Jazz basketball again.
The core of the team is Rudy and DM.
Going to be a lot of fun to watch this team evolve.

No, it all points to the superstar effect of Tatum getting wide open shots. Tatum is currently being assisted on 97% of his 3 point attempts. 97%! Catch and shoot is easy.
Donovan has to play Kyrie's role. He has way more responsibility than Tatum.

But if the C's don't have a ball dominating star don't u think those numbers might be different. Don't think DM is playing the same role if Kyrie were in Utah.

Gotta say too, good to see the FO giving the key to the Kingdom to DM ... ala Simmons, Giannis, Harden, etc.

Sometimes that's very important.

Kyrie doesn't need a DM in Boston, he needs a Tatum to complement his game. Maybe Utah needs a DM far more than it needs a Tatum, so if you are going to be tossing around "what if's", then ask, "Would Tatum be putting up the same numbers in Utah if he and DM were switched?"

Please keep in mind that Rubio does not receive the defensive respect that Kyrie gets.

I see a bit of Harden in him as well. Eventually teams will start game-planning for his ability to get to the rim and when they do we will see if he has the same drive and dish game as Harden.

We don't know the answer to that. That's why I said I can't wait for the future stars game

Just because Tatum is playing the role C's need him to doesn't mean he can't play the same role DM is. All I'm saying is that Tatum is a very talented rookie, so is DM. All I'm saying is that those are the two best rookies in this draft IMO, and it's too soon to tell
