What's new

Someone make a game thread, and get rid of baseless hypothetical trade threads

please for the love of god, this. Ty the turd nd his rotations need to go pronto.
Pekovic was killing our bigs the 2nd half. And where was Kanter, the toughest defender? Planted on the bench. KOC has either told Ty to play Jefferson and Millsap huge minutes to increase their stats and trade value, or he doesn't have a clue. I fear it's the latter.

Once again Tyrone Corbin snatches defeat from the jaws of victory!

I blame Ty more than Al. Why do we have to run every single offensive set through Al in the last 6 minutes of the 4th-quarter? We did the exact opposite in the 1st and 3rd quarters and the offense worked fine, and Al still got some looks (2-3 shooting in the 1st-qtr) as a secondary option. It's like when the game gets tight Ty panics and wants to run everything through Al on the block - only that's the absolute worst thing he can do. Al can still function as a complimentary player offensively but Corbin's insistance on force-feeding him on the block is the real disaster. Ty has yet to demonstrate any type of ability to manage a game down the stretch (and don't even get me started on the coaching blunder of having Harris on the court to foul when he already had 5).

In a way I'm glad this happened yet one more time for Utah. Hopefully coming just before the allstar break it will give KOC some time to think long and hard about the direction this franchise is heading.

On a pick and roll, when time is running out... It's the help side defender that needs to plug the lane. Jefferson did that yet forgot that he is 6'11" and the guy coming at him is 10 inches shorter. Put your hands up in the air ala Eaton for hells sakes and challenge him...... Yes that last play is on Jefferson as Hayward HAS to try to go over the screen otherwise he has an open jumper.

Except there was no pick n roll. Hayward played awful d

You guys are gonna blame that on Al????

Sure, why not. Where was the perimeter defense? Hayward got beat badly

Actually, Hayward was getting beat all night by Ridnour. Ridnour is a point guard. Burks, on the other hand, was able to handle the Wolves' faster shooting guards (all basically point guards). Once again, Ty and his conservative decisions.

Yeah this one hurt a little. I agree that in this game Favors and Kanter should have been played more. It was frustrating to see so many rebounds given up in the later minutes knowing that Kanter could have helped that situation. Barea had no class but Hayward should have slapped him. And Hayward was just too easy to get by on that last play.

Corbin's conservative substitutions are what drive me crazy! He has to hold players up to standards, not just the rookies. That's what makes great coaches. Corbin is coaching scared. Popovich, Jackson, and Sloan would bench any player on the team for not living up to the team standard. I just wish Corbin would show some courage.
Umm, no on Sloan. If the guy was a veteran, he would stick with him. Bell got huge minutes last year, Derek *&^% Fisher was the starting SG despite opponents going off on him consistently for 30-40 pts (just to name a couple of instances). Ty is coaching JUST LIKE JERRY. Stuck back in the days when no one shot over 30% on 3's. Ty is a good guy; I like him as a person. But the only hope for the Jazz is that the ENTIRE coaching staff get fired and replaced. And that even goes for Hornacek. He doesn't seem to be having any effect as a shooting coach; the Jazz have got to be the worst in the NBA from 20-ft out.

Agreed. At least for that last play have Burks on him.

A situational substitution...what a thought.....

Plus, Ty took advantage of Haywards size in the 1st few minutes (he had a quick 6 pts).

Then he stopped taking advantage. NBA is all about Mismatches. Even the Minny announcers were worried about Haywards size after his quick 6 its.

Ty is just dumb.

Time to turn this team to the 21 & under Giys(Old man Hayward, Favors, Burks, Kanter). Let these guys learn to finish games with plays called for them and all the pressure.

We aren't going to make the playoffs anyway, time to see the future

I wish someone would ask Corbin this question in the post game: "How much longer are you going to play starters at the end of the games when they are not getting it done?"

Salt Lake media always throw the biggest softballs to the Jazz in their interviews. All of their questions are leading to a certain answer that can be turned into a puff piece or someone pointless narrative that the reporters are trying to create. When was the last time you heard any of them asking earnest hard questions?

Ty now said he may start Howard after the Break.

I assume Haywards days are over. I'm serious, just trade Hayward.
