After the game in Memphis, David Locke said something rather interesting on locked on Jazz. He said, "This is going to become [Gordon Hayward's] team eventually and his teammates are waiting for it to happen."

I thought this was a pretty strong statement, but i think Locke is probably right. A lot of people got down on hayward early in the year, but even when he wasn't shooting the ball well, he was still making plays and playing defense. I think Hayward is going to be pretty good in the league, perhaps even borderline great. I think he peak is 18 to 20 points a game, along with 5 -6 assists. I think he'll be one of the best passing SF in the league (he might already be).
With that said, what do you ya'll think. If you look at Haywards past 9 games, he has only scored in single digits just one time, but keep in mind he only took 3 shots and made two of them finishing with 7 points (We won that game by the way, and Hayward played 31 minutes of tough defense on Kobe; Kobe Shot 6-16 in that game). Over the past 9 games Hayward has averaged 15 points a game while shooting around 53 percent. he has also averaged a near block, 1.2 steals, 3.4 assists, and 3 rebounds a game in about 31 minutes a game. oh yes, and he is still only 21 years of age. I am pretty excited About Haywards development, and i think he is going to be a great player at some point. (and yes, Orlando Magic fan, I would not be too high on the idea of the Jazz trading Hayward for Rudy Gay). I think one of the greatest things about hayward's development thus far has been his defense. he has been terrific. Gay commented on Hayward last night after the game, calling him "Tough". Keep in mind Gay did not take a single free throw last night which is indicative of Solid defense on haywards part. In the Game against the Pacers, Hayward held Granger to 6-16 shooting, while allowing him to the line just 4 times. A lot of people thought Hayward would be a bad defender in the NBA, but he has proved that wrong. It's funny watching some players try to go hard on Hayward, and then figure out that he is a tough kid. I think it will be kind of humerous if Shaq or Barkley pick Hayward last in this upcoming rising stars game, just due to the fact that he'll come back pissed and with more to prove.
Do you think that this team will eventually be deemed Hayward's Team?
