Sources: Utah has expressed interest in re-acquring Deron Williams

Sweet!
So who would even be competing with the jazz for dwill? Seems like everyone went insane last summer spending wise so the jazz should have a good chance at deron

Atlanta also expressed interest in a DWill Trade. But i think they are lacking cap room as well.

The Mavs have told Deron Williams they will pay off the full remaining amount of his deal if he wants to be a free agent, league sources say

Or...... what if dallas was asking for a first round pick for dwill. Jazz didn't bite. Mavs waive dwill. Jazz pick him up and dont lose any assets.
To me, if they get dwill, then they played it perfectly.

If Dallas was receiving any real interest I think they would have taken the best deal they could get as opposed to waiving him for nothing. It could be that the Jazz were playing chicken hoping that the Mavs would waive him so that they can sign him. I applaud DL if that was the play and it works out. That's risky though when you could have just traded for him.

Deron Williams Could Agree To Buyout With Mavs

Feb 23, 2017 3:13 PM

Deron Williams could agree upon a buyout with the Dallas Mavericks.

Williams was linked with a return to the Utah Jazz at the deadline. The Cleveland Cavaliers could have interest in Williams if he's waived.

The Mavericks would like to give Yogi Ferrell an extended look as their starting point guard.

According to Shams Charania, Williams will consider the Jazz, Cavaliers and Hawks if he's bought out.

Cuban buying some love ahead of his rebuild.

Wow, 10 years ago who would have predicted DWills career track would go the way it has?

D-Will is averaging 13 and 7 and is the best pick-and-roll player in the league this season. This would be a high quality pickup.

General front office sense on Jazz standing pat: They want to see the team healthy, and didn't want to do anything to harm team chemistry

... Maybe the Jazz won't even try to get Deron?

Certainly not the Nets LOL.. There's something funny about the timing of this latest Deron saga while CP3 reportedly agrees to a $200MM deal.

what'd be truly funny is if he signs with Cavs and wins a ring, while CP3 is ousted in the 2nd round yet again.

all signs point to DWill quickly working out a deal with the Cavs, per league sources.
