I know I'm a little late but I got the series on DVD for Christmas. I have been hibernated the past three days and just finished it. I watched like 40 episodes each an hour long in 3 days!!!! What a great show. Any other fans of the show on this site? I'm foaming at the mouth for more. A spinoff. Anything.

The only preface I got from my older bro was to watch in order and that the main character dies in real life but not in the show so they use a different actor. Batiatus was the best character without question. I could've done with a little less gay sex but I guess the show's producers were all-in with the explicit nature of the show.

Any show remotely in the same genre like Game of Thrones pales in comparison. What was everyone's favorite episodes? Characters? Biggest shocker? etc.

watched the 1st episode a couple days ago. reminds me alot of 300 the movie. kinda cheesy tbh. hopefully it gets better as the series goes on.

How do people do that? It seems like the norm with Netflix and such now. Binge viewing. That would be like the worst possible day ever to me.

I should've also said the other preface I got was just get past the first two episodes... I'm telling you. It gets incredible.

I've never done that in my life until this show. It was like crack. I'd never seen anything on tv or in movies like it in regards to the violence, twisted yet simple and gripping plot, nudity, etc. You also get attached to the characters/story.

Great show without doubt. Of course it was nice to see Xena show her boobs but this even is a minor deal in the entire show. Would love to talk about it if you are not a fail of a troll attempt. No offense. It's just that there are too much unnecessary trolling and sarcasm on this site.

Gannicus, Crixus es numero uno.
When it was revealed that Batiatus ordered the killing of Spartacus wifey.

How could anything from my OP be taken as a troll? As much as I hated Crassus, he was a great character. I'd love a spinoff series with him.

I also used to love the snipes and tension between lucretia and olithea.

There is a distinct Lord of the Flies thing going on with many posters. Has largely ruined the site, to be honest. So much so that they must suspect every post of being a troll due to their own tendency to do nothing but troll everyone not in the "in" group.

Insert "butt-hurt" burn here...it's their schtick.

Not just troll.... Troll alt.

That just happened.

Well alright then. I take it that you have finished the entire show. The show has a unique realistic story line. Of course there where exaggerrations on some points but it did not betray the real story and finalized it pretty accurate with a decent dramatic touch. And after the last cast ended, when Whitfield appeared and yelled "I am Spartacus!" I held myself barely not to cry. It was an intense moment for me. Seeing all those other big time shows **** it up in finals, I can bow my head respectfully to the director of this show.

I'm so annoyed the tough syrian (not ashur), barca, and a few others along the way had to be killed off before they fought crassus. I really wanted Spartacus and his army to win. I understand the history aspect of hit, but in regards to the show I wouldn't have minded seeing the good guys win.

I also thought the new Naevia was awful.

I think it was good that they kept it accurate to the chronological line and concepts. If I have seen them taking this to a solid victory of the gladiators against Rome, it would get boring for me. Sometimes winning is not only killing all the other soldiers of the enemy. Sometimes, especially in the longest term, like your fellow William Wallace, death in the road of the cause affects the consequences much more than physical destruction. But most of the time, heroes die in the way of pure honor, yet no one else holds onto them anymore. Spartacus and William Wallace were the lucky ones I guess. Heroes like that will still rise and lead people to higher values of themselves than they are imprisoned in by the social structure, and only some of them will be remembered in the history books.
