What's new

Starting PG?

We have two seconds available... just an FYI for you and @Elizah Huge ... 2029 and 2030 are available. We sent the 2026 memphis second that we owned half of 31-42 in the Collins deal. Likely wasn't something we were going to get anyway... so not bad.

We should look at grabbing a few seconds though. We need some spare change to make smaller deals work.

I forgot about the 2030 one since it is a new league year.

With regard to Quickley... watch what happens with Hart and their MLE. If Hart opts in and they sign Donte Divencenzo... I can't imagine them also signing Quickley to an extension. Having $55M+ tied up in those guys with Brunson, Grimes, RJ having big money and needing a role seems counterproductive.

So apparently Houston is looking at a 2/84M deal for FVV. My max offer would be 3/105 and we'd likely need to work a sign and trade in there... I'd consider doing Sexton in that type of deal so we lose a little money. Not sure the money will line up if Houston goes all the way like that. I don't blame him but it kinda sucks to go waste the best years of your career trying to make that **** show functional.
FVV would be insane to turn down a 2 year deal w/ that much cash.

I think Dinwiddie would be a decent option if Utah/DA are for serious about the whole size supremacy approach. He's on an expiring contract and Brooklyn shouldnt be too attached to him.

No thanks, what does he provide for us that Sexton doesn’t besides being bigger?

I hate watching him play basketball so much. Too much over dribbling. He's good but I'd rather roll with JC/Sexton/THT

We need to tamper and let Quickley's camp we're willing to go $100M+.

I would, can't deny that his playoffs was disappointing though. I would try to capitalize on it rather than being spooked by it personally.

I bet we could get him for a lot cheaper than 25M per year though.

Luka Doncic. As soon as he asks out, DA is going to roll out the red carpet AND back the Brinks truck up to Mark Cuban’s house.

Ainge has built a solid team for right now. Any moves he makes moving forward will be geared around keeping enough flexibility to add a star player when the moment comes.

IDK, maybe $20 M.....but if it costs a little more annual to get it done you do it. Upping the money helps convince Quickley and puts more pressure on NYK to cave.

I believe all rookie extensions can go out 5 years now... I'd say 5/100-120 is fair and doable. You could also make it descend and be quite tradeable/cap friendly.

So a deal could start at 27M a year and end at 19M a year in 5 years when the cap is 50% higher. Between that and renegotiate and extending Lauri and maybe JC if they want to get fancy could set us up pretty well capwise.
