I've taken that dbag move to the next level. I had a logitec mouse that I purchased on Amazon stop working and I called logitec customer service. I can't remember why but either that turned into too much of a hassle or I didn't have the receipt or something so I went to Best Buy and bought the same mouse, brought it home took the new mouse out and put the broken one in and then returned the broken mouse to Best Buy. I told them it didn't work, so at least they didn't stick it back on the shelf, but still I felt a little like a jerk for taking advantage of them like that.
I've done the same thing before. I literally had an iPod crap out on me after about 45 days. I'd bought it at Sam's Club, and their policy is 30 days and then you have to deal with Apple. I don't have the time for that crap, so I bought a new one and waited about 20 days to take the bad one back. Told them it stopped working and stuff. They just send it back to the manufacturer, so they're the ones having to back up their product anyway.
