This is my problem with drafting bigmen projects, especially with early lottery picks. Jazz are going to invest a roster spot and 3-5 million a year for 4 years to Kanter just to teach him how to play basketball and speak english.
Then at the 4 year mark when he is RFA the minimum contract the jazz can offer him is something like 8 million even though he may not be worth it. Or if he shows any promise at all he'll get a Roy Hibbert, Brook Lopez max contract. Can anyone imagine paying Favors and Kanter Max contracts? Ugh. Better to draft experinced bigs with lower 'ceiling' later in the draft and gamble early picks on pgs & wings that can play sooner.
Indiana is smart, so is Boston.
