And to make it clear, since it's only summer league the reason I like Archie Goodwin is that he's the first player who adressed a major weakness and showed improvement in that area over the summer. You don't shoot 78% from the NBA 3 pt line against 26% from the college 3pt line when you don't work on it. Even if it's 5 games and the sample size is 2 attempt/game on both stages. His shots were not from the closer corner positions, both C&S and contested ones off the dribble. He simply worked on his game and it shows.
If he showed that shooting touch in workouts and given that he's the youngest player in the draft I'm surprised that he didn't move up.
And I also agree that Phoenix will be a fun team to watch. The good part is I don't even agree right now that their team will be necessarily worse than Utah's given their depth!
PG Bledsoe - Dragic - Marshall
SG S. Brown - Goodwin - M. Lee
SF Butler - Beasley - (Tucker)
PF Scola - Frye - Morris x 2
C Gortat - Len
While that team lacks in elite talent, it will still have a lot of solid players and a more than solid bench. Maybe Bledsoe and Dragic will start alongside, but for natural position reasons I just listed them both as PG. I'd be actually surprised if they didn't get active at the deadline with their 3 expiring contracts(Butler, Gortat, Brown) and Scola who's a savvy veteran who has 1 more year left.
