Yeah... I know what he meant... but IMO Cy was making the same point I'm making, even if exaggerating the closeness to 5x5 in last game.

The point is that Bilal impacts the game in multiple ways even if he's not scoring a ton.
People expect Europeans to come and just adapt to the more iso heavy American style. Takes time. When Bilal learns it's going to be pure filth.

Which is part of why I don't get the Exum comp... I think they are different body and player types.

IMO, the comparison comes from the rawness. Like as great as he was in this second half you can see he's far away like Exum. So it's a similar bet in that respect because you are counting on tons of development. But one of the reasons I make the comparison and still like Bilal is that he's a supercharged Exum. Much bigger dimensions and also much tougher from a mental standpoint from what I saw in the French League.

No, Cy was being disingenuous but you are right. He has looked great defensively and does affect the game in other ways.

Too bad we can’t make any assumptions about SL games so unfortunately this amazing performance is meaningless.

Inside joke but yeah... Bilal had one Tony Snell half and one AK47 half. I believe there was a poster here that told you he'd go off today...

It was me... I said it.
So... have you changed your mind now? Is he now the best French prospect to enter the league since Gobert? Now is the time to jump on the Bilaly Cubaly Island.

Actually the opposite in my case. That was one of the reasons listed for why european leagues may have a hard time producing nba talent. They play a different style with different rules. That is one of the reasons I expect them to not be good. I expect them to struggle. Nice to see you are catching up though.

Please tell me what stat line constitutes close to a 5x5 so I avoid you crying in the future.

I would say more than 60% of what you’re trying to get in every category is a good start.

It would be pretty funny to say someone almost had a triple-double with 6 rebounds and 4 assists.

Doesnt make sense to me either. Only real likeness is they both have skinny 18 year old bodies, but that's the case for most 18 year olds entering the NBA. I dont think anyone outside of jazz fans would think Dante Exum when they see him on first look.

Bilal is just everything you want in a role player based wing project. He has already shown he can be a high level contributor to winning basketball by doing the things off ball, and he has the elite athleticism/size and a high level feel on both ends that gives you reasonable hope he develops into an All-Star.

Dante just had such a weird body and weird game as a rookie. Like his layup attempts and drives were just odd even in the beginning... so maybe that's it cuz Bilal had some awkward finish attempts.

Could be. There always exceptions and trends sometimes change. One thing to remember is that no one ever said that Bilal cant ever be good or wont ever be good. No one said no one from france is ever good or will ever be good. Just pointed out what has been typical. What the trend has been. The recent history. No biggie. It was/is a weird thing to get caught up on. People discuss where players played all the time.

So if he would have had 1 more steal you would have been fine with me saying it? You are bitching to me over 1 steal?

Yeah, you just like arguing with me. You thirst for it lmao.

lmao they are hedging after they watched him have a good SL game. Got to love it.

Honestly, scoring 19 pts and having 4 blks doesn't really means going off. lol He had a very decent game. If he had 30+ pts, 10+ rebs and 5 blks. That's going off. But he's got potential I'll give you that.
