Summer League: Utah vs Detroit Mon. July 9th 1:00 MT

Can I have that hour of my life back?

That is sime boring basketball. Its just a bunch of chaos. Its worse than rec ball.

No way, we were able to, in our infinite wisdom, determine the future of Kanter from this rec game. Over 15 points = superstar, under 5 points = bust.

I'm not too worried about Kanter, I think Drummond is going to be really good, try not to read too much into it.

Better hair: Washington or Carroll?

Washington bc/ its less common. Carroll's like Faried.

Gordon should do his hair like AK, or Kaman haha.

Enes is suffering not playing the game too long, a lot. Even a whole NBA season didn't help him much.

Then he should be in the D-League, maybe? Or maybe we shouldnt have drafted a guy who didn't start playing basketball but like 5-6 years ago.

You guys propped Kanter up as if he is going to be this 15-10 or 20-10 guy. But the same cast was also making Kosta Koufos out as some beast. Kanter? He's another Milicic. International hype, don't you get it? And when you got these meathead dumbass Jazz assistants yelling like they are coaching a midget league team, you know damn well and certain Kanter only has one or two mentors in the locker room to give him any incentive, Al Jefferdad.

Oh and the one thing that makes me so mad about Kanter is the dude takes about 10 seconds getting his feelings all situated after he makes a dumb move, loses the ball, gets blocked. He acts like he just burnt his hands, or he talks to the air... This is the pros. You're a grown boy now Enes, so you best get your slow minded *** a damn good incentive that you want to be in the league for atleast the next 10 years.

And you guys couldn't accept it. Enes is slow as hell, glad these Summer League games will prove it. Oh yeah, he might have a good game here and there against some scrub centers, but I think the Drummond matchup proved it. If you are having problems with a project that is supposed to be more raw then you, it's going to be a long way to the top if you want to rock and roll...

I think that's taking it a bit too far...

A Bust?

Beating up some scrub centers? Did you even watch Enes manhandled Bynum last year? Both offensively and defensively too.

I'm as down as anyone else here about his performance. But to say he's a total bust ala Millicic is a bit much. He's shown that he can play at a high level. He just needs proper coaching and support which I just don't think is there at the moment. We'll see if KOC can crack the whip and get Corbin & Co. on it ASAP.

Street smart/attitude

I think Phil Johnson said it best in an interview. Kanter didn't grow up playing basketball like most kids. He didn't just pick up a ball and join pick up games. He "learnt" basketball. The upside to that is his shooting form is technically perfect. But he lacks that natural instinct that most Americans kids have growing up playing bball. I think that could be why he sometimes looks lost on the court. He needs someone to be telling him constantly what to do, where to go, what plays to run, etc. That's why I just don't think he's suited to this Summer League environment where you have guys wheelin' & dealin' at will, no structure no nothing (well at least less than a typical NBA game).

Bottom Line

He needs 1 more go-to move, like a jump hook, or a running jump hook - to go with his up & under. That's on the coaches to teach him that and let him practice it and use it in a real game. The size, the talent is there. He just needs some support around him to utilize that talent.

).

He scored 17 pts, but Bynum scored over 30. That in my book is far from manhandling.

A 19 year old rookie scored 17 pts against the Lakers?

The numbers don't tell the whole story on the defensive end. Jefferson was guarding Bynum 80% of the time (and we know what kinda defense Al plays). But when Kanter came off the bench he held his own out there if you'd watched the game.

I bet you finally slipped up. I had a chance to catch you trying to be funny and failing, and you covered your tracks. Well played Weezur.

Maybe I posted something so awesome, that Jazzfanz coded the awesome post to say 'Deleted' because the rep from the great post would have overloaded their servers.
Good move on their part.

how did Mike Green play?
He is the ideal PG for my kind of basketball.
a do-it-all PG with a pass-first mentality.
It seems he had 4 rebs, 1 assist and 4 points.

I watched just to see Burks play the 1 and he didn't play 1 minute at the 1. All our real players stunk basically. I liked that Washington "kid" and I thought Stockton's kid played well.

Kwame Brown once had a 27/15/5 game. You would think after watching all the basketball some here do they would see the pattern. Kanter's a guy who can blossom one year down the road and be servicable for a veteran team needing some youth off the bench. Yeah, but even people who have "learnt" basketball at a younger age than Enes, and from a different culture, and whom have more school experience don't make it at this level making the mistakes Enes makes. You can't change Enes, and that "lost" feeling over night. That looks like a 2 year project ALONE.

The Jazz right now are moving. In transit. Enes could hurt this team more than help if he doesn't somehow shake the kinks. And no homo, Kanter is lookin pretty kinked up.
