One thing i would suggest is to really be the laziest man on earth for those three days. I took it way easy and rotated through bags of frozen peas so that they were always cold. I had very little pain and a quick recovery.
After I got the surgery I read a bunch of posts somewhere from people who had had it done also. Many people felt good so they decided to go for a jog or mow the lawn, then blood started to collect in their sack and the pain and inflamation came on. The people I've talked to who had a good recovery didn't do much and kept the frozen peas on it.
A buddy I work with went with the same doctor I used and had an equally good recovery.
