PKM, did you know that Cousins had this type of shooting range? I mean, he's only made 9 threes in his 4-year career at a 14% clip...just a lucky day or is Hayward just that bad?

He's always been a really, really good shot in practice.. I mean, like, damn good. He complained a little to Calipari about not getting the green light to shoot 3's. He told Cal he wanted to play like a SG (lol). To which Cal replied, "Cool, I respect that, but SG's in my system play in the post.

Wow...can you imagine 6'11 270 lb shooting guard posting up "little twerps" like JJ Redick, Demar Derozan, Dwade, CJ Miles, Manu, Harden, Hayward, etc. Now would be funny...

I was picturing cousins point at Redick as he got around a screen wide open again yelling "Switch".

I thought Gordon Hayward had another good day playing for Team USA. Thought Anthony Davis looked good as well. Only saw end of scrimmages.

Some dude named Steve Carp, who is a Las Vegas sports writer.

Another guy who played well today at USA practice but may have been under the radar was Gordon Hayward. He ran floor well & finished at rim.

From yesterday, Steve Carp likes Hayward.

If Hayward shoots well, he makes the team. A Hayward that shoots well is better than Parsons or DeRozan. If Hayward can back to hitting 40% of his threes, he will come pretty close to being worth his contract.

Agreed.
Hayward shooting 40% from three that passes, rebounds, and defends like he can is pretty bawse

Thanks for the vid.
I was expecting more when you said "finishing over patrick young"

Young didnt even raise his arms and had his back to hayward running out of the way/play (probably not wanting to injure anyone in a practice)

I bet 99 out of 100 Jazz fans would not trade Hayward for Cousins, straight up.

Rudy is our center of the future. He'll come at a discount with none of the attitude.

Seriously, Cousins is an unbelievable talent. But his attitude and immaturity kills the Kings.

I would do something like this....

PG: Irving, Curry, Lillard
SG: Harden, Thompson
SF: George, Hayward
PF: Durant, Faried
C: Davis, Drummond, Cousins

They need the size and rebounding without Love and Griffin. Hayward could make it due to his ability to pass, rebound, defend, run, handle and break down opposing forwards. They don't need him to shoot much. But I'd think George, Durant and Davis would be the starting frontcourt. Beal and Wall are tough omissions.

If he doesnt make the team, its cuz the coaches are smart and see that he sucks..If he does make the team, its cuz the coaches are dumb and not as smart as most Jazzfanz posters..can see it coming...smh

You're not seriously saying you'd rather have Rudy Gobert over Cousins, are you? Please tell me I misread that.

I feel like Cousins is one of those dudes who will underachieve his whole career until he joins a team that has it's **** together, then he will be amazing.

22.7 ppg / 11,7 rpg at 23 years old,any team would take Cousins including the Jazz. It's easy to be indulgent with Cousins when he produces what no other Center is doing in the NBA.

Yeah but then you have to deal with things like this constantly:

DeMarcus Cousins is a beast, but ultimately, the staff has to be able to trust him, both in regard to dealing with officials and in making decisions with the ball. During a scrimmage on Tuesday, Cousins punched a wall pad out of frustration as the ball went the other way in transition. It was something that would go mostly unnoticed in an NBA game, but that stuff registers with the staff. He has great skills, but USA bigs don’t need to play one-on-one. NBA.com

Great talent that is hard to control which results in dumb decisions that impact the team. Even during game time.

Well count me as the one. I wouldn't even think about it. Cousins it a pain in the butt when he complains but he hasn't gotten arrested or punched a teammate. I still think he needs to calm down but I think the Jazz have the coaching staff and organization to handle him. I certainly would have him talk with Malone and perhaps they can become fishing buddies. :D

Sorry punching the wall isn't a big deal. As long as he gets along with his teammates and does what the coaches say then there is no way he can't be on the team. I think he should start.

Rose
George
Durrant
Davis
Cousins

Punching the wall isnt the issue.

The issue is that the opposition is running down the court in an attempt to score while your center is on the other end of the court throwing a tantrum.
So cousins team is going 4 against 5.

Having said that, i would take him on the jazz if we could get him. Sometimes you have to take risks....... could end up being a bad decision though
