Removing easy access to guns would be a good start.
Make body armor part of the uniform.

I said that already. Americans love money more than guns - buy them out. Your government can afford it.Ok. Let’s say we all agree. Cool
Plan? How do you propose we do that given the sheer size and scope of the problem. Over 300 million people and over 300 million guns.
We looking at a long drawn out process? Decades?
An immediate confiscation program?
Or something else?
Haha, you don't have the slightest.I said that already. Americans love money more than guns, buy them out.
Make it mandatory buy out or a fine. So if I have a gun collecting dust somewhere which I do not use ... would I rather have 10x return on my investment or 10X fine? Seems like easy choice. Of course some gun masochists will risk keeping them but lets be honest, 90% of you do not need a gun. So even if half of them will sell their guns out to government you decreased total number of guns in USA by 150 mil. That is a damn good start in my opinion.Haha, you don't have the slightest.
You should rent a house in Utah County, Utah for a summer. Attend some LDS church services. Go out shooting with some locals (they would absolutely jump at the chance to take a Canadian out shooting). Then get back to me. You think it's an easy choice but I think a good 20% of Utah gun owners would hide their guns (there's no way to know what guns they have, I hope you know that) and they might turn in a couple guns they don't use or that flat out don't work.Make it mandatory buy out or a fine. It's not a real solution. Many would literally die before giving up their guns. You can think they'd cave or that it's bravado, for some maybe it is, but not for all of them, not even close. They see gun ownership as the last line of defense against the ultimate slavery of all mankind. They think they are the last standouts preventing a world government from swooping in and enslaving all people everywhere in the world. So long as the U.S. people can defend themselves with guns the plans of this secret world government are being thwarted.

Yeah, I mean I've tried to explain to you anti-gun folks that you don't understand gun culture. It's not all crazy, but the people who believe the one-world government is trying to enslave humanity certainty gravitate towards the gun community. They are there. They aren't giving up their guns for money or to avoid a fine. Plus, as I mentioned, you don't know who has what guns. So there's no way to validate compliance.Man, you guys really have serious issues. It is just mind boggling paranoia which is beyond any common sense of understanding.

Yeah, I guess having stockpiles of guns hidden buried in backyards, in cabins in the woods, etc. would be a positive step in the eyes of gun control advocates compared to our current situation.I bet when Australia bought them out they did not succeed in buying all of them but it was generally a huge success.
Our views and feelings towards guns is very different than Australia.I bet when Australia bought them out they did not succeed in buying all of them but it was generally a huge success.

That does not sound like fun at all.
Yep, criminals and gang members are going to rush to the nearest gun redemption facility to surrender their weapons. Violent crime will drop to zero.
These school shootings are tragic. I hope it doesnt happen to my family. But taking away guns wont resolve the problem. As mentioned, there's no way to completely eliminate guns from every single person, nor do we want to.
I'm not a gun owner currently. But as I get older, as my income decreases and I'm forced to move into a dicier neighborhood, maybe I will. Or even as I go hiking alone. Lets say, just for ***** and giggles, criminal x accosts me on a trail and for some odd reason, wasn't able to buy a gun on the black market. You dont think he'd just use a hunting knife? If so, I want to have a gun to defend myself.
And for every shooting, let's also post crimes that were stopped or prevented by a bystander having a gun.
I think we really need to address the reason behind a lot of shootings: mental illness. Maybe it's time to reopen institutions. Maybe it's time for something to be done to better identify and help or commit the individuals who are showing signs of becoming violent.
Then you have a misunderstanding of millions of Americans.
Also, gun buy back programs already exist. We still have 300 million plus guns. As constituted they are not working in accomplishing your goal.
But I am also a gun owner and have no intention of giving up my gun unless there is massive changes in society.
I am a hunter but I only go about once a year. I own a few guns that I paid about 1k for all of them. They are worth less than that now though. I do go out clay pigeon shooting/ fun shooting a few times a year. I also like having a pump shotgun for protection. But I dont keep shells in it. Its more to deter something than to actually shoot someone. Hearing a shotgun pump happen will deter pretty much anyone from breaking into a house. But the dogs also do a pretty good job of that. How much you paid for it? 400-500$? Would 4.000-5.000$ would not be enough for you to give it away? Are you even using it anyway?
I am not talking about hunters who need it for hunting.
