The question how do the jazz improve their shooting, defense and sf issues?

Answer

Brandon rush

He is a good 3 pt shooter. He is known for his defense. He is 6-7 and could play the sf next to Hayward at the 2. He would take the harder of the defensive assignments at the 2 or 3 freeing up Hayward to do what he does best. He will open up the driving lanes for Hayward and Harris. He will make it hard to double with his man.

I think you have to offer him something a little more then the mid.

The only other question is pg.

If the jazz could use either Jefferson or millsap to get Marshall that solves the future pg issue.

Use our next years first to get a 20s pick and draft Jeff Taylor here. At 47 draft o'quin because you need a 4 and or 5th big

Harris, Marshall, Watson
Hayward, burks
Rush, Taylor, Carroll
Millsap, Evans
Favors, kanter, o'quin

That is a solid team Harris teaches Marshall the ropes. Rush Hayward compliment each others games. Favors starts and starts to become an all star. Kanter is the first big off the bench.

I realize I don't say how we trade Jefferson to get a pick and not take anything back. Still working on that. Maybe #10 and Trevor ariza or okafor. Then don't draft o'quin in the second.

Just leave the decisions to Kevin O Connor. He knows what he is doing. He is a top 5 gm. If we get him then KOC was right. If we dont then he is right as well. Just have faith and dont worry about it.

he's restricted though, so we'd have to overpay to get him. i don't know that i'd go over the MLE to get a guy who has never averaged double figures, doesn't play defense, doesn't get to the line, and has a motor that's off-and-on.

we might like the idea now, but in a year or two, he'd be our new CJ.

Interesting. OP says Rush is known for his defense.

If we left everything to KOC then we wouldn't have anything to talk about. It is fun to speculate.

Interesting. OP says Rush is known for his defense.

But he doesn't say whether it's known as good or known as bad.

I haven't really watched him in the pros. In HS he was scoring machine but he had a rep for going less than 100% (similar to QMIller, PJ3, Drummond, etc)

If you always play it safe the jazz will always be a mediocre team. I think rush has serious potential in our offense. Also rush has never been a starter. If the jazz give him 25 to 30 min a night he will be what cj should have been.

i'm not saying don't take risks; i'm saying don't take stupid ones that aren't likely to pan out. rush is a nice bench player, but he's not the difference between being a mediocre team and being a great one.

the spurs picked up danny green and boris diaw from on top of a trash heap and turned them into starters for a conference finalist. THOSE are smart risks. gambling 6-7M on a career 9-point scorer is not a smart risk and won't transform the jazz.

Is he really known for his defense? I mean, he was traded straight up for Louis Amundson. I really want him, but i don't want to overrate him.

He is a good defender and so is Hayward favors and Kanter is a banger down low. How is Kendall Marshall's defense? I'd take ariza and the tenth for Jefferson

Indiana didn't want him and did give him away - But he has been a good defender throughout his NBA career, and he really found his shot from three this season with Golden State. He is a good example of getting a player that fills a need (outside shooting) without sacrificing defense or going with strictly a one dimensional player. I'd be really happy with an addition of Rush, especially considering the alternative this season was C.J. and Josh Howard. We'd just be taking money and minutes and putting it toward a more efficient player.

I read the title of the post and thought it would be about how the Jazz should go after Allen Iverson. You know. The Answer. Needless to say, I was kind of disappointed to see that it's really about Brandon Rush.

Well, it was bad in college and the PG depth was low in college this year.
So when Kendall comes into the NBA and is faced with NBA PGs, it might be atrocious.
