What's new

The Night Of

Two things.

1) I hope we find out who did kill Andrea and not that Naz is simply found guilty.
2) Where's the knife? That's the crucial piece of evidence.

They are never going to find a random knife. Whoever has it cleaned it and probably threw it away.

Yeah, I said it either was an act of passion or set up to look like one.

Petey doesnt seem like the kind of guy you send in to do that kind of job. No way did he instruct him to go to her house to "collect". You send a big, intimidating person to do those things. Not a small skinny kid.

When we first see Petey he doesn't look as small and bitchy as he did in the prison scenes. Like I said too, it could've been his mom. Or perhaps someone else. But basically Freddy is the antagonist.

I was thinking Trevor because he returned to the scene of the crime and because he seems to have passed by the wayside but he is wearing the same clothes both before and after the murder so it can't be him.

If not Petey, my second guess would be the neighbor. Why was he looking out his window at 1pm?

But I feel confident about Petey or some other "messenger" via Freddy. Not Duane though.

Freddy could be connected to anyone.

Haha. I think it's way better than that. The Cali scene and plot was so lame. It was poorly shot for much of the series imo. No interesting vibe or mood. Just the occasional cool moment from Farrell. This is really, really well done. Despite the slow, sort of methodical pacing, it feels slightly rushed and I wish there was more detail and it was more like 10 episodes. That said, the finale is two hours so maybe it'll tie up some of the loose ends.

My wife, who's been watching it with me, said she knows who did it in the British version from which it's based. Sigh. I so wanna ask her but won't. She did say it's not stupid (iho) and is someone I've mentioned. I've mentioned:

Petey/his mom via Freddy
Duane Reed
Hearse dude
Trevor (guy with Duane Reed)
Neighbor
Stepdad
Naz

That's it I think. I've mentioned seven guys. I can't fathom how it can be Trevor. He had the same clothes prior to the murder and right after. If it's the hearse dude, that's just retarded h hum L&O TV. So corny. I highly doubt it's the neighbor. Sure, I wonder why he was looking out the window at 1am or so but if he did it, why the hell would he call the cops and such? I know some killers like toy with the cops but this outcome would be silly imo.

So that leaves Petey/his mom, Duane Reed, the stepdad, or Naz. My guess is it was Petey/the mom/OR Duane Reed via Freddy and NOT the stepdad which to me would also just be normal, L&O type tv and corny.

I think the Brit version is on Hulu.

Also, fwiw, Brit shows are sort of known for their red herrings which is even more reason for me to think it wasn't the stepdad or Duane Reed.

I didn't see season trey.
Season one had more red herrings than any show ever made though. So annoying.

Not as many as The Killing, season one.

I just read who the killer was for The Night Of in the Brit version. It's supposed to be the same person here. I won't say who.

Half-assed court room drama combined with a half-assed prison drama thrown into a more fully formed cat allergy/eczema drama.
