The Non-Jazz NBA Thread in the Jazz Section

Luka just entered the protocol... boy I bet the NBA is excited about the show down between DM and Jalen Brunson.

I think the Mavs have like 6 or 7 players in the protocol now. At this point I wouldn't be surprised if the game is postponed.

I think just him and tre Burke but could be wrong.

There we go… I just read the internet wrong… 2 NEW guys. I keep waiting for us to get one of these but we must be really watching ourselves.

So I had said that the league is more likely to change policy than shut down. They changed policy that if you’ve gotten a booster, you don’t have to test. But they can do it this way to fly under the radar rather than just saying “we’re not testing anymore.” Instead they can say “not testing because they got a booster.”

Did anyone notice how the Spurs bench completely destroyed the Lakers the other night? Ketia Bates Diop and Jock Landale missed two shots for the game and between them had 43 points and 15 boards and were both +21 in the box score.

Stanley Johnson has gotten looks from the Bulls and now the Lakers. Always had a soft spot for him. Would be willing to sacrifice Oni.

Horrible offensively but I've always liked his defense. 6'7 with a 7 foot wingspan and just 25 years old. Yeah, I'd definitely rather have him on the roster than Oni.

I loved him during the draft. Great kid, very hard worker. The offense never came around and that's unfortunate but I still think he's a great defender. A lot of the arguments for Dunn also apply to Johnson.

Saw that DLo is in protocols now… guessing it was not be long before we have our first case(s).

I was thinking about Stanley vs Paschall. I think Paschall is a more talented player, but we were not playing Paschall in a role that suited his strengths, but that is the role that was available.

Stan might not be as good, but if there was ever a place for him to succeed it would be that role. He’s not any worse of a 3 point shooter, but a much better defender.

What level of defense are we talking with Johnson? Am I going to have to go watch 5 minutes of Johnson on YouTube to be an expert on all things SJ or can someone give the breakdown? @idiot ?

Keeping Oni is costing us opportunities at this point. Teams taking their shots on different players off the wire till they find the next Danny Green or PJ Tucker. We are just chilling over here with a guy who's been proven useless for nearly three years.

Looks like a pretty principled defender.

Bigger question is if Quin would ever play a guy like that. Guys whose job it is to make sure the sex machine is plugged into the wall have value keeping the whole operation alive, but Quin gets so focused on being lean enough that only people participating in the action are allowed in. Then he’s baffled why simply having the machine isn’t enough when it matters.

I just saw a horrible call. A guy is defending chris paul about 80 feer from the hoop. He isnt reaching in. His hand isnt on paul. His arms are simply spread wide in a defensive position. Paul swings his arms into the defender as if he was going up for a shot and the refs call a foul and paul gets free throws.
He wa 80 feet from the hoop! He wasnt actually trying to shoot or make a basketball play.

Stupid refs

i mean Crowder played near 30min a game under Quin despite shooting well below 40% and hurting the offense.

Watching the Suns-GSW game and I don't think we can keep up defensively in a playoff series.
