The Non-Jazz NBA Thread in the Jazz Section

Locke had a podcast about trading with Sacramento, but it was for the idea of getting Fox or Sabonis. The conclusion pointed towards it being too early to do so for the Jazz, but he never brought up trading Collins to get assets from them. Seems to think the Kings are done and wouldnt be interested in putting more chips in to make the core work.
I think there are still some deals we could do with them. We are going to do a trade season pod and there are a few ideas I had that work whether or not Fox stays or goes. Unless they get a monster offer they should play it out and wait for the summer perhaps. Try some minor stuff without jeopardizing the future.

Minny's upcoming schedule is tough. Could be looking at a 5 game losing streak before they get a game they are favored in vs San Antonio at home.

Sacramento was always shaky. Their success was predicated on having near perfect health and punching above their weight talent wise.

I still don’t think they will roll over and quit. John Collins still seems like an awesome fit there. Their roster is very imbalanced at the moment, they need another 4/5 big.

I remember people laughing at me (namely @Keefe )for overhyping how good Wemby would be and how the Spurs would be title contenders during his rookie contract. He's already a top 10 player in the league and might arguably be top 5 by end of the season with his recent hot streak. The level of play he is doing without having any teammate near all-star level is insane (and nearly no bench).

I think the Spurs might be kind of insane if they dont trade for some upgrades.

If Im the Spurs I'm going in on Fox and trying to grab John Collins on the cheap.
Could've used some upgrades down the stretch vs the Knicks, at least. I just watched the final 5m, and while he did get an impressively long 3 waved off (CP3 was pushed, but before the gather), Victor wasn't really impressive offensively down the stretch (although by all accounts he'd had an amazing game until then), but they still should've won that game with a slightly better finishing group. Collins certainly could've helped.

The weird thing about the Wolves is that you think with Gobert off the floor and a Naz/Randle frontcourt they would be really good on offense, but they arent.
