Oof.
Bucks definitely didn’t win that trade. Should’ve kept Jrue.

On the other hand, last year Tatum finished 4th in MVP voting and finished 6th this season.Lot of debate about whether or not a team can win a title without a top 5 guy.
Boston's going to cruise to a title without one.
Yet one could argue that he has been the 3rd or 4th best player in his own team in these finals thus far.On the other hand, last year Tatum finished 4th in MVP voting and finished 6th this season.

They sure haven't needed him to be anywhere near that caliber this playoff run.On the other hand, last year Tatum finished 4th in MVP voting and finished 6th this season.

Oh I agree. I was just pointing out that many people consider him a top 5 player. The discussion was whether you need a top 5 player to win a title. A lot of people think Tatum is a top 5 player. Whether he is currently playing like one or not he is still considered a top 5 player by a lot of people which the MVP voting reflects.Yet one could argue that he has been the 3rd or 4th best player in his own team in these finals thus far.

Disaster trade.Oof.
Bucks definitely didn’t win that trade. Should’ve kept Jrue.
To be fair Boston would still be the favorite to win it all even without Jrue.Disaster trade.
Bucks are now most responsible for the Celtics getting a title, and they made that trade to beat them!
Wolves and Nuggets share responsibility for second most. Nuggets should have been the opponent. Wolves took that from us, but maybe Nuggets shouldn't blow a 20 point game 7 lead at home.
It's never been more a teams year, than the Celtics this year. Everything just went perfectly for them. 'Best player' Tatum will be like 5th most impactful in the Finals on his own team. Has that ever happened?
As of now he's on track for FMVP though. Trading that dude to your top rival aint great. To be fair Boston would still be the favorite to win it all even without Jrue.
Yeah they probably should have just kept Jrue.As of now he's on track for FMVP though. Trading that dude to your top rival aint great.
Yes, they should've. Jrue is one of my favorite players in the NBA. The definition of a team player. Hardly ever fails to make a right play for his team.Oof.

We're going to lose every race where there are other options, especially ones like the Celtics. You go play in Utah. #neverforgetHave to applaud our FO for chasing both Jrue and Porzingis, even though they lost both races.
Not only that... Likely used them as leverage like FAs use the Sacramento Kings. JJ and Hurley are both weird candidates imo. Hurley made more sense for the post Lebron era at least.Hurley turns down LA, gotta love it baby.
Neither of those Boston acquisitions were the players choice though. We're going to lose every race where there are other options, especially ones like the Celtics. You go play in Utah. #neverforget
Porzingis opted into his contract to get traded to Boston?Neither of those Boston acquisitions were the players choice though.
Oh, yeah that is true.Porzingis opted into his contract to get traded to Boston?
If he didn't Utah was going to sign him, isn't that the story?
The fact that you are the "best" player on the team with best record couldn't even put you in top 3 for the MVP race basically tells everything we need to know. On any other team Tatum is just an average all-star. Advance metrics suggested exactly the same thing. This Boston team is the closest thing to the 2004 Pistons. On the other hand, last year Tatum finished 4th in MVP voting and finished 6th this season.

Right player at the wrong time. Should've went straight for the Pelicans Jrue instead of Conley in 2019/20.Have to applaud our FO for chasing both Jrue and Porzingis, even though they lost both races.
